We will meet in the R.O.C. at 4pm and head out to the Mullikin's for dessert, the Keeley's for entrees, and finish at the Logan's with appetizers. Don't forget your Dirty Santa gift ($10 max). Youth is headed to Gatlinburg, TN to see Crowder, Skillet, Lecrae, and more in Concert. Plus some great speakers and a waterfall hike. See you at 9 a.m. on the 29th! Middle School Tonight we will have Mrs. Jackie Scholl and Mrs. Beverly Ellis leading us in how to make cookies from scratch for our second annual Christmas Service Project. After we are finished baking we will wrap up the goodies and hand deliver them to the Owensboro Police Department! This is our way of showing appreciation to the men and women who work around the clock to keep us safe. But don t fret, there will be a sweet treat for all who help tonight! Join us today from 3:00pm-6:00pm in the ROC for a time of baking, Christmas shenanigans and a devo. Invite a friend or two or three! SETTLING IN Have you been considering joining the church, or are you wanting to learn more about Settle? On January 15, 22, and 29, we will offer classes on Settle Memorial and on the United Methodist Church. On February 5th, we will offer a tour of the church. Classes will be led by the pastors and various staff members. These classes are encouraged, but not required, when joining the church. and longtime members will likely learned a thing or two as well. We will meet 9:45-10:30 in the Conference room in the ROC. Get a donut, some coffee and come on in! Did you know there are love stories in the Bible? Potter s Clay Women s Bible Study Group will be exploring Jennifer Rothchild s study of Hosea. It is the love story of Hosea and Gomer and how it relates to our love story with God. Risk-Taking Mission and Service ADVENT DEVOTION BOXES Advent Devotion Boxes for the Help Office will be collected at the Christmas Eve Service in the Welcome Area. Feel free to bring your box and place it by the Christmas tree located there. DECEMBER MISSION PARTNERS Ronald Kaluya Uganda Counseling and Support Services. Give thanks for Ron s ministry to the people of Uganda. Pray for UCSS s mission as they work to improve the quality of life and spread God s love to people in remote communities of Uganda by providing social services, counseling and spiritual development. St Benedict s St. Benedict s Emergency Homeless Shelter is a temporary refuge for the homeless persons in our community. Give thanks for this ministry in Owensboro, and for the people in our church who support St Benedict s. We collected over 240 gifts for 60 children at Audubon, East View, Foust, and Estes Elementary Schools. Grateful parents have picked up their gifts and there was an outpouring of appreciation for the love you have shown through the Mission Tree.
