Preparation for Worship As you enter the Sanctuary, please prepare your heart for worship and silence your mobile devices. Worshiping the King who sacrificed all to rescue us from sin, death and hell always involves sacrifice. Today, we offer up the sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name (Hebrews 13:15). In Matthew 2, the Magi from the East demonstrate for us what this type of worship looks like. Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship by meditating on the following: Like the magi, our duty is to adore King Jesus in a spiritual manner: For the lawful and reasonable worship which He demands is that we consecrate first ourselves, and then all we have, to His service. John Calvin Seek and Worship the King ORGAN PRELUDE: He Is Born.... Mary McDonald Kathy Priestly, organ CALL TO WORSHIP....Brandon Terry I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth. (Numbers 24:17) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1) A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall bring good news, the praises of the Lord. (Isaiah 60:6) May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him! (Psalm 72:11) Jesus Christ is our light and life In His name and in His power, let us worship God! WHYMN OF PRAISE: No. 226 As with Gladness Men of Old...DIX WINVOCATION (Please lift hands) WPSALTER LESSON: Select verses from Psalm 27...Rusty Shappley (8:15) Don Batchelor (11:00) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.

You have said, See my face. My heart says to you, Your face, Lord, do I seek. I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! WCONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE.... VENI EMMANUEL Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. Receive the Grace of the King CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION God of grace and truth, in Jesus Christ You came among us as light shining in darkness. We confess that we have not welcomed the light or trusted good news to be good. We have failed to be Your agents of peace on earth. We have resisted Your mighty rule in our lives. We have been reluctant to glorify and praise You for becoming God with us. We have closed our eyes to glory in our midst, expecting little, and hoping for less. Forgive our doubt and renew our hope, so that we may receive the fullness of Your grace and live in the truth of Christ the Lord. INDIVIDUAL PRAYERS OF CONFESSION ASSURANCE OF DIVINE PARDON.... John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. WORSHIP OF GOD WITH THE GIFTS OF GOD OFFERTORY ANTHEM: Be Unto Your Name.... Lynn DeShazo, Gary Sadler We are a moment; You are forever, Lord of the ages, God before time. We are a vapor; You are eternal, love everlasting, reigning on high. Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, worthy is the Lamb who was slain! Highest praises, honor and glory be unto Your name, be unto Your name. We are the broken; You are the Healer, Jesus Redeemer, mighty to save. You are the love song we ll sing forever, bowing before You, blessing Your name!
