the RADICAL - March edition Page 4 of 8 Sunday, February 12, 2017 That even under the pressure of what everybody else is doing, our girls will stand up for the bloodstain banner of Jesus Christ. That s our goal, our purpose. They do not have to be a member of Radiant, we just want to pour in to the girls in our community. We presented Ella Moore Poitier, our RADgirls Girls Ministries Coordinator, with a plaque in appreciation for her many years of serving (since 2008). As Coordinator, Ella is charged with overseeing and administering (under Lady s direction) the operations of the Girls Ministry programs and activities. Titus 2:3-5: Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be dishonored. Rev Millicent Pelt delivered a profound message regarding God s instructions for the women on this International Girls Ministries Sunday. She briefed us a bit on the history of Girls Ministries, which began in 1969. I frequently tell people when we talk about Girls Club, it is the equivalent to Girl Scouts/ Brownies, but the Christian version-the Christian component of Girl Scouts and Brownies. Girls Ministries Purpose is to encourage our girls to grow in Christ; to develop personal character, abilities and skills; to provide Christian fellowship and recreation; and to teach our young girls to win their peers to Christ. Teaching them to go out and to witness to others and to bring them in to Christ. We want to make sure we re teaching them and teaching them right (teachings of good things). Because so often we hear about our girls being persuaded to be like someone that s not like Christ. We want to teach them so that when they go out on these campuses they can be bold for God and that they can rightly divide the Word of God. The Gleaner-Challenge funds raised will go towards the costs associated with the annual Mother/Daughter Brunch, as well as a portion going to the International Girls on a Mission project. We need QUARTERS to fill our GLEANERS. Mother of the Year Nomination forms can be found in the Church Lobby.
the RADICAL - March edition Page 5 of 8 We need women who will be willing to Rise up; to Stand up; and to Speak up for the things concerning God. And as we women take our rightful places, guess what; our girls will take their rightful places. If we are going to be holy, godly, reverent women, then we have got to have a relationship with the Lord, we gotta know Him - we gotta be in His presence. Which means we have got to open up His Word, read His Word and Study His Word and once we study His Word we have to take It and apply It to our lives. MODESTY Modest attire is a b o u t y o u r motivation, your attire reflects your mindset. Examine yourself in your secret place. RADgirls presented the Counselors, helpers and prayer mothers with a pink carnation; presenting Lady Pelt with a pink rose (symbolic of her being our rose ); an expression of their Appreciation and Gratitude. Thank you!
