Caul Clayton McLean Shelby Star Cleveland County, NC 09/27/2006 Mr. Caul C. Mac McLean, 66, of 143 Warlick Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Carolinas Medical Center. He was a native of Harnett County, son of the late Robert F. and Pheolia Jarmin McLean. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Mac was retired and was an avid golfer with the Roberts Senior Tour group of Cherryville. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with the Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and at Deer Brook Golf Course, Shelby on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. after the service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley McLean. Survivors include his wife, Annalee Ashby McLean of the home; sons, Gary McLean and wife, Melissa, of Honolulu, Mark Hoyt of Las Vegas; daughters, Lisa McArdle and husband, Pat, and Laurie Jones and husband, Eric, all of Melbourne, Fla., and Kristina Defazio and husband, Brian, of Glen Burnie, Md.; and grandchildren, Brian Defanizo, Haley McLean, Michael Hoyt, Katie McArdle, Nikki Defaizo, Jimmy McLean, Matthew McArdle and Joley Hoyt. A native of Harnett Co. he was the son of the late Garlton and Letha Adams McLean. He was a member of the Holly Springs Masonic Lodge and was a past master of the lodge. She was born in Erwin to the late William Daniel Lovette and Betty Hudson Lovette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Niven McLean. She was a retired registered nurse and nursing home administrator. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Bridges- Cameron Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Scott McLean. Burial will be at Erwin Memorial Park.
