Jeopardy Inter-generational Game Night Saturday January 26 4-6 PM Here in Sewall Hall We will play a round of Jeopardy, eat dinner & play a 2nd round of Jeopardy with our host Deb Glancy! See the signup sheet at coffee hour! ACTIVE THREAT TRAINING THURSDAY JANUARY 17TH 7-9PM For those who want to learn how to respond in the event that we experience an active shooter during a church event, please attend this training AT THE CHURCH. It is hosted by the Burlington Police Department. It's unfortunate that we have to have such a training, but it is better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

GREEN TEAM NEWS! It was wonderful to have over 2 dozen people come to the breakfast and talk on Sunday. Many thanks to Andy Wells- Bean for his interesting talk about climate change and the initiatives that are going on at the national, state and local level. There will be a poster about an electricity challenge for saving energy on display near the Green Team bulletin aboard. Please take a look at it. Also of note is a Hazardous Waste and recycling workshop at the Senior Center. Below is the full announcement found in the senior newsletter this month. Hazardous Waste Workshop Tuesday, January 29 th Join us on Tuesday, January 29 th 10-11am to learn about ways to dispose of hazardous waste such as elemental mercury, tricks for saving energy and how to recycle properly. There will be a raffle at the end and we will serve hot coffee and Danish. Brought to you by Covanta Center for Eco-technology. We all know how important coffee hour is following worship We are in need of folks to HOST on Sunday morning. Janine Towle is our coordinator and she would be more than happy to give you guidelines for hosting. This would make it easier to spread out scheduling. Email Janine at msjaninetowle@gmail.com

C4C will met this week at 1 in the conference room. The initial version of the annual report will be on the table and I hope people will read it and add to it. The due date is January 20. We did distribute over 200 items. We have yarn to sort and many crochet projects have been donated to us. If you have time and energy please come at noon to help sort yarn and maybe fabric in the Skelton Hall kitchen. The kitchen will look more organized when we finish these 2 projects. We have given yarn to Lowell High School to help start a knitting group there. Susan Eby will be away from C4C and our church family for some time this year: "Nelson is on Sabbatical this half year. We are going to travel to Taipei for two months so that he can do research at the Academia Sinica in Taipei. We leave February 18 th and return April 15 th. Later on in the spring we will travel to Capetown, South Africa

where he will do research at The University of Capetown. Dates for that trip have not been set yet. I will still have the same e-mail account and both a lap top and IPad with me. The Burlington Food Pantry currently helps 13 families with children under the age of 2. They are in need of diapers (sizes 3, 4, 5) and wipes.
