The Prayer Life of KCBC We believe that God is calling us to spend more time in prayer as individuals, in small groups and as a church so; we have been finding ways to increase our opportunities to pray together. On the 15 th October we will be holding a day of prayer more information to follow, in the meantime: We have a thriving prayer chain if you would like to be alerted of prayer needs by phone or e-mail please see Nat Bond. Offering prayer for individuals after our services. At 10am each Sunday before the service members of the Prayer Ministry team and the Worship Group pray together upstairs in the Sunday School room. Encourage prayer triplets - two have already formed. Sunday evening meetings where the focus is on prayer in quietness and aloud. If you would like more information about any of the above, please see David or one of the leadership team. You may want to occasionally provide the flowers for display in the hall, and enjoy them being used to bless someone afterwards. If would like to help, why not see Rita after the service and she will arrange times you can do this. And we will all appreciate what you provide

Preaching Peace In October Joe Haward of This Hope Church, Newton Abbot, will be hosting Michael Hardin, a writer and theologian, who will be over from America to do a few days teaching and speaking here in the South West as he travels around the UK. Michael founded Preaching Peace (www.preachingpeace.org), an online teaching resource that looks to help people read the Bible and understand the Gospel from a peace, nonviolent perspective. Preaching Peace utilizes the mimetic theory by René Girard, a theory that explains the origins of violence, the scapegoat mechanism and where the need for sacrifice emerged in ancient and religious cultures. In the evening of Tuesday 18th October, open to all, 7.30pm at mine (19 Keyberry Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1BX), Michael will be speaking on who is Jesus Christ for us today? How can we understand the relation between this nonviolent Jesus and the violent God of most Christian traditions? What might Christianity look like if it truly followed this Jesus? On Wednesday19th October, 7.30pm at mine (19 Keyberry Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1BX), Michael will be speaking to those who are exploring faith and asking questions about who Jesus is. This evening is for people who want to find out more about Christianity and ask searching questions. If you would like to come to any of these gatherings then please get in touch. Or if you know of people that would be interested then feel free to pass the details on to them. You can either ring me on 07969 243110 or email evangelistjoe@live.com Michael does not charge for coming to speak, so these gatherings are all free to come to. If you would like to donate towards Michael s ministry then there will be a box for people to leave donations on the way out. Revd Joe Haward
