VICTORY IN JESUS I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me: I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood s atoning, Then I repented of my sins and won the victory. Chorus: O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever! He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood, He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him - He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood. I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing, How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see; And then I cried, Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit, And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory. I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory, And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea; About the angels singing and the old redemption story, And some sweet day I ll sing up there the song of victory. 5
The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. If you earn You owe the Lord $10 $1 $50 $5 $75 $7.50 $100 $10 $200 $20 $500 $50 $700 $70 $1,000 $100 Special Giving Above Tithe and Offering April 26 Foreign Missions 6

SHARING YOUR FAITH Part 4 Be Prepared to Share Your Personal Testimony A basic tool for any Christian witness is an individual s story of what Jesus did for him or her. That story is called a personal testimony. Your testimony does not need to be dramatic or unusual to be effective. A testimony is effective because it is a personal story. Lost people may not accept the authority of the Bible, but most will not deny the reality of a personal experience. The principles involved in preparing your personal testimony are simple: 1) Pray for guidance. 2) Follow an outline: a. What your life was like before receiving Christ. b. When and how you realized your need for Christ. c. What your life has been like since receiving Christ. 3) Write it out. Putting your testimony in writing will help you clarify what you want to say. a. Keep it SHORT! 2 minutes or less. b. Avoid Christianese, that is, churchy language. When preparing to share, and when sharing your personal testimony, seek the Holy Spirit and allow Him to operate. 1) The Holy Spirit goes ahead of us to prepare the unsaved person to receive our witness (John 16:8). Pray for the receptivity of the person. 2) The Holy Spirit guides us in what to say and do as we witness (Acts 1:8) and brings things back to our remembrance (John 14:26). Rely on Him. 3) The Holy Spirit will do the work of convicting (John 16:8). We don t need to do that. Family and Friends Day Celebration Sunday, May 17, 2015 ~ 8 am and 11 am Worship 8
