WE REJOICE! Church Cleaning Day Saturday, May 18th from 9:00a.m. until noon is our quarterly cleaning day. A general clean up. It's been said many times before. Time sure flies when you're having fun. Date: Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 Place: NHCC Fellowship Hall Time: Immediately following morning worship service *This is a potluck meal. All areas of the meal will be needed: appetizers, vegetables, cold salads, meat dishes, etc.. GREEN SALAD AND DESSERT WILL BE PROVIDED!

50% stays in Oklahoma Our Disciples family is growing! Your Church is growing! When Dick Hamm, former general minister and president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), introduced the 2020 Vision in 2001, he challenged the Christian Church to look like the face of America. He also set forth a challenge to start 1,000 new Disciples congregations by 2020. No one could imagine then where God would take us. Today, Disciples have started 800 new communities of faith and counting! More than 50,000 new lives have been brought to Christ, and 18 languages are spoken at Disciples churches. Now, that s good news worth celebrating! New Disciples churches are being planted and new mission fields are being created throughout the United States and Canada. On May 12 and May 19, 2013, Disciples churches will collect the Pentecost Offering to fund the new church movement. We need your support. This offering is creating opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in places that don t have a Disciples witness. When you give to the Pentecost Offering, one half of your gift stays in the Region where you live and one half goes to Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation to support the recruitment, assessment, training and coaching of new church pastors, spouses and core team members. Because of your support, your Church is growing. Disciples are growing. We are reaching new places to provide Disciples mission and share the good news of Jesus Christ beyond the doorsteps of the Church into the community and throughout the world. There is a light in the darkness. Support for the new church movement will help it shine. Thanks for your participation!

May 8 2013 Page 9 My Testimony By Ann Stanford I was raised in a Pentecostal Church in California by my grandmother. In 1952 I moved back to Oklahoma City. I was 14. I started going to Capitol Hill Baptist Church with my friends and was baptized that year. Children s Choir Sunday, May 19th 9:30a.m. Come Join the Fun!! The next year, 1953 I married my husband Kenneth Stanford. He belonged to Agnew Christian Church. Agnew moved and became Southwest Christian Church. All the Stanfords were members there so I joined my husband s church. My children, all five of them grew up in Southwest Christian. Two of my daughters moved to Good Shepherd Christian. So Kenneth and I started going there too, but never changed our membership. We were thrilled when Southwest and Good Shepherd merged into New Hope Christian Church. It truly was our home church. My husband attended til he could no longer. He loved his church abundantly. I love seeing my grandchildren growing up in this wonderful place of worship. This church has always been a blessing to me. God is my Father, my Friend and the Answer to all my prayers. Tawanna Romine In Town Tawanna is in town to celebrate her birthday. If you are getting this newsletter by email, you still have time to go to her party: Thursday, May 9th 2:00-4:00p.m. 504 SW 124th Pl.* * Call the Church for directions and/or gate code
