LWF:ON MISSION By Adrian Rogers Love Worth Finding s purpose is to bring people to Christ and mature them in the faith How to Come Back When You re Down P THE BATTLE OF THE BOTTLE The effects of alcohol bring not only misery but mockery. I love this Psalm because it shows that no matter what we ve done, God provides the way back when we ve hit bottom. The devil tempts you to sin saying, It s alright. You can get away with it then after you sin, he accuses: You ll never get away with it! He throws you off balance, brings you down, convincing you that you can never, ever come back. But Psalm 51 describes David s comeback after he had committed adultery, then arranged for a death some might call cold blooded murder. But David wasn t only a great sinner; David was a great repenter. Understand these things about ourselves as sinners: Sin saturates the mind. What David did reverberated through his soul and echoed through his conscience, a wound to his psyche. It saturated his mind. Sin stings the conscience. David was conscience-stricken. He sinned against his people as king, against his family, against Bathsheeba and Uriah, against his wife and children, against his own body. But what bothered David most was, his sin was an affront to a holy God who loved him. Sin saddens the heart. The child of God weeps, Not only did I break Your law, I broke Your heart. When God saves you, He doesn t fix you where you can t sin anymore, just where you can t sin and enjoy it anymore. When you re right with God, you stand straighter, smile more, and sleep better. Our Capability of Sin There are three factors: Confidence: Have confidence that God still loves you. Probably nobody reading this has committed sin of David s magnitude. Yet David said, O God, according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies. He knew God was full of lovingkindness. If you ve sinned grievously, the devil will say God is finished with you. That s a lie. Whatever you ve done, how many times you ve failed, nothing you do will make God stop loving Getting saved doesn t mean we lose our capacity for sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). Sin in the life of a Christian is an unexpected opportunity meeting an undetected weakness. When those two come together, we fall into sin. The Consequences of Our Sin David suffered not only the death of a son, but great inner turmoil. Sin can t take away your salvation, but if you re a child of God, you re going to suffer consequences. If you re bound to sin, you re bound to suffer. Sin soils your soul. David cried out for cleansing. If God s child lapses into sin, he loathes it. The devil s child leaps into sin and loves it. How do you come back? you. For great sin there is great grace. Confession: God will not accept an excuse or alibi for sin. God wants you to confess it. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us [hallelujah] from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). When we try to cover it, God uncovers it. But when we uncover it, God covers it. Psalm 51 describes the process so clearly. Cleansing: God removes the penalty. Blot out my transgressions (v. 1). When God blots them out, He erases the record. It s gone, buried in the grave of God s forgetfulness. Never to be brought up again. If anybody ever brings it up again, it s the devil or your conscience. God removes the pollution. Wash me thoroughly (v. 2) He cleanses, and you re clean. The blood of Jesus Christ, God s Son, cleanses us from how much sin? All. Don t let the devil say, Yeah, but yours is a biggie. No. He says all sin. God removes the power. David asks in verse 7, Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. He literally purges you on the inside. This is God s triple detergent. You don t need to go around with a load of guilt any more, carrying condemnation Satan put on you. You can be whiter than snow. Isn t that wonderful? Isn t it glorious? Hallelujah! What a mighty God we serve! This article is taken from the message: How to Come Back When You re Down (1730CD). JAN FEB 2018o o V. 25 N. 1 Stories Worth Telling everyday love Wallace Lock come back A message from Adrian Rogers Back cover I recall a particular Sunday night, when seeking love and the answer is the real Love Dr. Adrian Rogers and Buck Jones came worth finding Jesus. down front where I was sitting and Continued inside began talking about a new ministry. Then, Dr. Rogers announced to the church from the pulpit about this ministry and it was to be called Love Worth Finding. At first, I was unsure, but as I learned more, it started to grow on me. I understood what Dr. Rogers was trying to get across. His desire was to preach and teach about the love of Christ because ultimately people are Locks of Love If you have ever watched Love Worth Finding on television, this face may look familiar. Wallace Lock and his precious family have been sitting on the front row so long, you ve seen his children grow up! We have had the privilege of Wallace sharing his heart occasionally in our weekly Wednesday devotions. Now you get the opportunity to hear from a man who loves Jesus and loves Love Worth Finding. 12/12/2017 11:43:36 AM

everyday love Continued from front All through the years that I have listened to him preach, he preached the Word always in love. Even times when he throws the heat on a sermon, you knew there was love behind it. He wanted people to experience the love of Jesus Christ. There were many things I learned from Adrian Rogers. One was when preaching or teaching, never do it in your own strength or agenda it has to be with love. As a Sunday School teacher, that has special meaning to me personally. Another thing I learned was we can t be Christians only on Sundays. It has to be lived every day, and every day it has to be lived out. And I m continuing to learn that God s Word stands the test of time! You know, Dr. Rogers sermons were preached to the church, but Love Worth Finding has taken the messages and put them on television, radio, and the Internet, and they still are so timely today! One reason is because he had this great God-given ability to expound on the Word of God and give application; so the listener can take what they hear and apply it in their everyday life. Love Notes God bless you today. I heard your sermon and asked the Lord Jesus Christ into my life. I want to live for the Lord. I feel so wonderful inside and out, words can t describe it. I can t remember feeling like this before, and it s glorious. Thank you for spreading the Lord s message. Joanna I began listening to WBCI radio 23 years ago in 1994. My walk with my Lord and Savior has been tremendously enriched by the quality of programs such as yours. I deeply appreciate how your personal study and walk with Jesus Christ is shared with me in your radio broadcast. I have gained many insights through your efforts and my Christian witness has been strengthened. Letti Ann, Maine Wallace Lock and his family have been long-time listeners to Adrian Rogers and Love Worth Finding. Ultimately, no matter in 40 years or 400 years we will still have people who are hurting. We will still have people who are searching. We will still have people who are lonely people who are going through tough times. The only way you can ever soothe and help the pain of those situations is through the Love that is the Word and found in the Word of God. There are so many facets to the Word of God and how God operates in our lives. In thinking about it, some of my favorite times were when I would go to the back hallway of the church and wait for Pastor to come out of his office. He would come down the hall to meet me, and I would tell him that I was praying for him. And sometimes we would talk about a specific topic, and he would say, Let s go back to my office where we d look it up. I want you to know, what you saw on the platform was the same guy that you saw when it was just you and him. And he was a good guy to be around, and you knew he loved the Lord. On one occasion, there was a man that Pastor and I knew who was rough around the edges and really in need of Jesus. He asked Adrian and me to lunch one day. We finally got our schedules together and had great conversation. The discussion finally turned toward the Lord and while Adrian talked, I prayed and the man gave his life to the Lord. And about a year later, the man died. Talk about God s timing! I m so thankful the Lord laid this man on our hearts. If you don t know that Jesus is the greatest Love worth Finding, please contact the ministry. Dr. Rogers often proclaimed, Come to Jesus. God s Word is and will always be timely. Be in the Word. Live your Christian walk every day. Encourage one another and pray for one another, even as Wallace did with Dr. Rogers.

By Cary Vaughn, CEO points to ponder Today there are still millions of people who do not know our dear Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and who are in desperate need of His redeeming grace. The need also continues to challenge and encourage the church to be about God s call. And friends like you need the inspiration, strength and wisdom that only God s eternal truth can provide. So what does this mean for Love Worth Finding? It is my heart s deepest desire that until Christ returns for His church, this ministry would continue to proclaim the truth of God s word. That souls would be saved, believers strengthened and encouraged in the wonderful name of Jesus, and His lifegiving, life-altering love be broadcast throughout the world. Please know that the strength of this ministry was and is not Adrian Rogers. It is the power of the Holy Spirit working through the proclamation of His word and working through our leadership and Board of Directors to provide wisdom and direction in response to God s leading. None of that has changed. And my prayer is that you would continue, and even deepen, your support to ensure that the truth of God s great love worth finding is proclaimed until Jesus returns. These are inspiring words from the great messenger, Dr. Adrian Rogers. As we approach our 31st year, may we be reminded of the charge that has been given. May we run with endurance, and may go one step higher in reaching the world for Christ! Life Well Spent By Bob Dawkins, CTFA, Planned Giving Officer ENDOWING OUR FUTURE Why give to our endowment? The purpose is to financially sustain the mission and work of LWF. The principal is kept intact, and only the annual earnings, typically income and a portion of the capital growth, are used to fund current needs. The ministry has established an Endowment Fund so we can continue broadcasting the Gospel. You can make a significant contribution to further our mission. Here are a couple strategies that can benefit you and build our endowment. BEQUESTS: A bequest, like through a Will or Trust, is one of the easiest gifts to make. You can make a bequest of a dollar amount, a specific asset, or a percentage of your residual estate designated to our Endowment Fund. Bequests are made through an estate plan and are revocable and can be changed. BENEFICIARY DESIGNATIONS: You can easily make a gift to our Endowment Fund by completing a beneficiary designation form provided by your account administrator or bank officer. This is also revocable should you change your mind. Additional information is available at LWFLegacy.org. Request a free Wills Guide at bdawkins@lwf.org or call me at 901-257-4110. This information is not intended for tax, legal, or financial advice. Consult your personal advisor. Love Notes I want to thank you for your program. I m tuned in every evening. I have never heard anyone like Adrian Rogers. He has motivated, inspired, and encouraged me so much. Listening to him was one of the instruments God used to give me the courage to walk away from 27 years in [criminal activity]. Texas
