Carmel Lenten Prayer O Jesus, Who by reason of Thy burning love for us hast willed to be crucified and to shed Thy Most Precious Blood for the redemption and salvation of our souls, look down upon us here gathered together in remembrance of Thy most sorrowful Passion and Death, fully trusting in Thy mercy; cleanse us from sin by Thy grace, sanctify our toil, give unto us and unto all those who are dear to us our daily bread, sweeten our sufferings, bless our families, and to the nations so sorely afflicted, grant Thy peace, which is the only true peace, so that by obeying Thy commandments we may come at last to the glory of Heaven. Amen. Traditional PARTNERS IN CHARITY Again this year we are asked to assist the Diocese in its charitable and educational outreach to the people of Worcester County. This appeal is a vital lifeline for many throughout the Diocese and allows our parish members to assist in the Church s mission. This appeal will be taken up at all Masses the weekend of February 27-28 at Our Lady of Loreto. Our goal this year is $26,400. Please be generous. YEAR OF MERCY A man I know has lived most of his life trying to deal with the pain he experienced in his relationship with his mother while growing up. One day I said to him, Hey, look, you just have to forgive her. That s all. But where does the ability to forgive come from? If the hurt we have received seems to have stolen our lives from us, has darkened our days and twisted our choices, how is it possible simply to set this aside? God s grace must have reached my friend, because his mother called me one day to say that he had stopped by just to hug her silently. Mercy consists not simply in working things through but in begging for the grace to embrace our lives and to be grateful for everything. Father Vincent Nagle, F.S.C.B. Thank You for the donation made to Our Lady of Loreto Memorial Fund in memory of Carl Mangano: Claire & Donald Biron All are invited to participate in contributing to our new Our Lady of Mt. Carmel St. Ann and Our Lady of Loreto Cookbook project no matter what your nationality! (Genesis 15:7) Just as the Lord gave Abraham, Moses and the Israelites a land to possess, He has also given each of us a home. Whether our home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. Abraham prepared a great sacrifice to the Lord in gratitude for the home God gave him. How do we show our gratitude to God for the home He has given us? Do we make a sacrifice of any kind? Do we return any of our finances to God, investing equally in our eternal home just as we invest in our earthly home? Sunday, February 28, 2016 11:30 a.m. The People of the Parish
