FAITH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH LOVING GOD, SERVING OUR NEIGHBORS Phone: 419-447-6748 Email: office@tiffinfaith.org Greetings Beloved, In these past few weeks, a passage of scripture has repeatedly come to mind. In the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, there is the story of Jesus taking Peter, James, and John up a high mountain by themselves. Jesus is transfigured before them, and Moses and Elijah appear to talk with Him. In absolute awe, Peter then says to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here Peter was grateful for the experience of being present with Jesus in that moment. Like Peter, I am grateful to be here! As each day unfolds, I am reminded of the blessing of the Lord for our ministry together. I am so grateful for that has been done to welcome me. The receptions after worship on July 2 nd and the potluck dinner on July 9 th were wonderful! Some have helped me to unpack the many boxes at the parsonage, taken me to dinner or prepared a meal, or offered moments of conversation when I was too tired to do anything else! I ve enjoyed working with folks on worship and driving to camp with our youth. People are providing opportunities to help me connect with the community. Each circumstance has given us the opportunity to know one another. Thank you for being the people you are. Please know how much I appreciate your kindness. There is no question in my mind that it is good for me to be here. Each day, I look forward what God has purposed, confident that it will be good! As we look forward to ministry together, I am also grateful for a quote I came across a few years ago that really speaks to the call each of us has as a disciple of Christ: "Ministry without prayer becomes work in the power of the flesh. Prayer without ministry is complacent Christianity." - Anonymous Beloved, our response to God s love in Jesus Christ is to go into the world to make and mature disciples for the transformation of the world. That s what the work and mission of the church is all about. That s what ministry is all about. And we cannot do it without prayer. Prayer is so powerful! Talking and listening to the Lord and being obedient to His will and His way is our means of successfully living into God s plan for us. May all we do, in our lives and our ministry together, be undergirded with the foundation of prayer. Please join me in praying for one another, for the church and community, and for the world as our parish. Our God has great plans for us, and I hope you are as excited as I am about discerning and living into His vision for us. We shall not be complacent Christians! In His Service, Pastor Marilyn Coney August 2017

It was greatly appreciated. This is time and money well invested for our youth s future. I m sure they will tell us about their time at camp. Thanks Again, Jane Schubert Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings, will offer their affordable, noninvasive and painless health screenings at Faith United Methodist Church on 8/24/2017. Members of Faith UMC Thank You so much for the generous love gift, the beautiful bracelet and the Faithful Servent plaque given to us at our farewell reception. Thanks, also for the beautiful cards and wishes we received. You will be in our prayers as we continue on our journey in ministry. Love Pastor Jeff & Carol ===================================================================================== I want to thank everyone for prayers for my son, Timothy Schatzinger. Thanks for everyone who contributed for the funeral dinner. Many thanks to my church family for your cards, thoughts and for your support in my time of need. Bless you all! Joyce Drake ===================================================================================== Dear Faith UMC, Thank You for selecting me for the $500 scholarship. I am very grateful for it. I will use it to pursue my sports management degree at BGSU. Thank You for everything you have taught me and done for me over the years. I am a better person because of my experiences here. Sincerely, David Dietrich From the Financial Secretary: This a friendly reminder to all that during the summer vacation season, we all need to continue to submit our pledged offering, whether weekly or monthly. The church still has bills to pay such as insurance, maintenance, etc. Money coming in via offering tends to decrease due to vacations and other situations during June, July and August. So that the finance situation of the church remains stable, I greatly appreciate your continued giving to Faith UMC. Thanks, Bonnie Scherger The next meeting for United Methodist Women is Saturday September 9th at 10am. Please join us and bring a friend.
