Saint Mark Messenger Mission Statement Here at St. Mark s Lutheran Church and Preschool, we believe in Growing God s Family. You will see this mission statement on our bulletins, business cards, newsletter and other printed correspondence. New nametags are also available. Inside this issue: Recycling 2 Church Council Treasurer s Report 3 Ministries/LWML 4 Birthdays and Anniversaries 4 Preschool/Youth 6 May 2015 March 2015 May is a month for all kinds of celebrations. Have you ever thought about that? We celebrate quite a bit in May. For example, on May 10, we will be observing Mother s Day. Mother s Day is a time for us to be thankful to God for the love and sacrifices that our moms have made for us. This month, we also plan on celebrating the Rite of Confirmation on May 24. This year s class includes Ben Drumm, Elijah McBearmon, and Aaron Williams. We thank God that they have completed their course of instruction, preparing them for a lifetime of communicant membership in the Lutheran Church. Then there are all the high school seniors graduating this month. You may know some of them and if you do, you can surely sense their excitement. There are also college graduations being celebrated this month. And that is still not all. There is something else we celebrate. It is important for me to remind all of us that our celebration of Easter last month is not over, but instead we are to continue this celebration throughout the year, not just each Sunday but each day. He is risen. He is risen indeed! So as we go through these Sundays here in May, let s celebrate mothers, graduations, confirmations, and this season of Easter, a time of continued praise and thanks to God for all he has done for us and given to us. Christ is risen! God Bless You. Pastor Spiritual Service 8 Rufus 9 Worship Schedule 10 Calendar 11
