From the Pastor I am writing my newsletter article the Tuesday after Easter weekend. As I reflect back on the weekend we had, I feel so blessed. I feel blessed to be a part of a Church like this and blessed to work with the people here. The weekend started with the youth traveling to Messiah s Ranch for a Pre-Easter retreat. They had a great time with each other and with the Lord. They even seem to have come back a little closer as a group. MJ and the youth workers did a fantastic job with our young people this weekend preparing their hearts for worship and giving them a little more understanding of where they want to go as a group of believers. On Saturday we had the Easter Egg Hunt and as always Scott and everyone who came up to help with that was amazing. We once again had an overflow crowd of people in the fellowship hall and all over the grounds hunting eggs and celebrating Easter weekend. It is so much fun for me to watch Scott interact with our kids. On Sunday we had our Easter service and Mark and the choir were once again up for the challenge. We had a packed house to celebrate the Risen Lord and the music, narration, and the service as a whole was perfect. Mark and I were worried that we had so much going on in the service that we would be very late, luckily the pastor wasn t long winded and we were able to get out close to time. During this whole weekend I am reminded of how blessed I am to be able to work with these talented men and their desire to bring Glory to the Kingdom. I was also reminded that the people of Hillcrest are some of the most devoted servants I have ever had the privilege to serve along side. Now as we jump off into our Spring season, we will begin to see some new programs and ideas being put into place at Hillcrest. I want to encourage you to find your place to help serve. We are always on the lookout for men and women who are willing to serve the Lord. You can help in the children, youth or adult departments. But we aren t limited to those departments. We need more volunteers to serve with the ilove team in welcoming and reaching out to visitors. We need more volunteers to help in the sound and video areas of the church. We need more volunteers to work with the ilive teams to help get people plugged into a ministry. Pray over the next few weeks as to where you can serve God by serving the church. As we continue to grow, we will need more and more people to step up and lead. And finally, thank you. Thank you for loving the Lord with your time, talents, and abilities. Be blessed, Bro Craig 5
