Every Man s Battle - Pastor Settle will lead this study in the North Fellowship Hall. Is This The Time? - Please join Dave Wood in the Choir Room. Starting Sunday, Pastor Heining and February 14 those in this class will consider the impact these old writings have had upon Christianity. Some may wish to participate in a trip to see the scrolls, which will be on display at the Science Museum in St. Paul this Spring. Gospel of Matthew - Join Pastor Settle as he will look at the very unique message that St. Matthew has to give to Christians today, and the unique perspective he gives us on our Savior. Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage - For those that missed the workshop last spring or those that need a refresher join us for a hilariously practical look at marriage and how to make yours stronger. This class will combine video clips from Mark Gungor and group discussion. You will laugh out loud and learn at the same time! MINNESOTA TO UGANDA YOU CAN HELP Thanks for those who have been bringing in donations. Details can be found at the display in the narthex. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 17. For many years, Christians have used those forty days before Easter as a time to reflect upon their lives and to consider what our Lord has done for us. Our Lenten theme this year is The Sign of Jonah. Services will be each Wednesday at 4:15 pm and 7 pm. Holy communion and the imposition of ashes will be offered on Ash Wednesday. We are thankful for the several groups which will be serving supper each week from 5:00-6:30 pm. Any profits from this free-will offering will help to defray Pastor Settle s seminary expenses. Five out of six are covered, but we need a group for February 24. If your group might be willing to serve in this way, please contact the office as soon as possible. 2 Week of 2-07-2010

PLAQUE: WHAT IS IT? Plaque is made up of invisible masses of harmful germs that live in the mouth and stick to the teeth. Some types of plaque cause tooth decay. Other types of plaque cause gum disease. Red, puffy or bleeding gums can be the first signs of gum disease. If gum disease is not treated, the tissues holding the teeth in place are destroyed and the teeth are eventually lost. Ways to control the buildup of plaque: Use dental floss to remove germs and food particles between teeth. Rinse. Brush teeth using any tooth brushing method that is comfortable, but do not scrub hard back and forth. Small circular motions and short back and forth motions work well. Rinse. Brush the tongue for a fresh feeling. Rinse again! Remember: Food residues, especially sweets, provide nutrients for the germs that cause tooth decay, as well as those that cause gum disease. That s why it is important to remove all food residues, as well as plaque, from teeth. Remove plaque at least once a day twice a day is better! If you brush and floss only once a day, do it before going to bed. (NIH - Oral Health Information) If you have questions about any of these events contact: Michael Harvey (319-4929) daharveys@msn.com or Lynora Miller (288-7219) millertwins2@charter.net UPCOMING Youth Events!
