Palm Sunday Contemporary Rite, p. 63 Penitential Rite, p. 66 Entrance Hymn V. Open wide the doors and gates. Lift high the ancient portals. The King of Glory enters; Who is the King of Glory? He is God, the mighty Lord. R. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed are You who are have come to us so rich in mercy. Hosanna in the highest. V. Lord, for us Your wounds were suffered. R. O Christ Jesus, have mercy on us. A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah Is 50:4-7 The Lord GOD has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear; and I have not rebelled, have not turned back. I gave my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets and spitting. The Lord GOD is my help, therefore I am not disgraced; I have set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Deacon s Dialogue Deacon Richard Kasprzak We made it home at about 8 PM, and it was just like in Florida. Warm, with a little breeze which made it pleasant to be outside. The sky was cloudless, and the moon shone out with a pleasant light. Heck, it was just as nice as we had it in Florida. Then I woke up, and the first thing I said was WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?????? But its too late, and we have to make the best of it. I got out of the car, opened the door to the house, and went in. Things had changed. We had a new dog named MAIZE, like in the University of Michigan song. He is brown, about 40 pounds and two years old. My daughter rescued him from going into a dog pound, and he is very nice. Our dogs are getting along very well. I should be at the Wing making for one day at least. I am hoping that when my friends arrive, I can get them to agree to taking some of the Angel wings back to the Church in Florida, so they can taste and learn what Angel Wings are. I already showed them what Paczki are, and they had them for the first time the Sunday before Lent.. I did make it for Thursday, and got my schedule from Fr. John. Psalm My God, My God, why have You abandoned me? (Ps. 22) A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians. Phil 2:6-11 Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Hymn to the Holy Spirit Sermon Nicene Creed General Intercessions Eucharistic Prayer II Lord s Prayer (p. 95) Communion Prayer I or II (p. 97/98) Blessing Dismissal Fellowship after Mass A Note From the Pastor! Today we celebrate Palm Sunday and reflect upon the Passion of our Lord. From His triumphant entry into Jerusalem where He is met with people with palm branches, to his betrayal and crucifixion by the Roman Authorities at the urging of the Scribes and Pharisees, we hear the whole story of the final days of Christ s earthly existence. He took on our sins for us, and we should be grateful that He underwent the punishment that we rightfully deserve. There is no greater love than to lay down one s life for a friend. Jesus is the best friend that we will ever have. Have a blessed week! Fr. John This week s recipe is by Fr. John. 1 cup of contrition 3 cups of thanksgiving 3 oz. denial 4 cups of patience 1 Tbsp. sorrow 3 cups of joy 5 verses of scripture 1 gallon of love Our Savior Recipe Section Recipe for a Fast Mix all the ingredients together and place in your heart for 24 hours.
