SUNDAY OF CHEESEFARE FORGIVENESSS SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2016 TROPAR: When the Lord s faithful women disciples heard the enlightening proclamation of the Resurrection from an angel, they threw off their forefather s condemnation, and with joyful boast broke the news to the apostles: Death is no more. Christ God is risen, blessing the world with great mercy. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Now and ever and forever. Amen. KONDAK: O guide to wisdom, O giver of understanding, O teacher of the unschooled and benefactor of the needy! Strengthen my heart, and make me understand, O Master, O Word of the Father! Put the right words on my lips, for I shall not prevent my lips from crying out to You: Have mercy on me for I have fallen, O Merciful One. PROKIMEN: Pray and give praise to the Lord our God. Verse: In Judea God is known; His name is great in Israel. A reading from St. Paul's First Epistle to the Romans (13:11-14:4) Brethren, take care to do all these things, for you know the time in which we are living. It is now the hour for you to wake from sleep, for our salvation is closer than when we first accepted the faith. The night is far spent; the day draws near. Let us cast off deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us live honorably as in daylight; not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual excess and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy. Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the desires of flesh. Extend a kind welcome to those who are weak in faith. Do not enter into disputes with them. A man of sound faith knows he can eat anything. While one who is weak in faith eats only vegetables. The man who will eat anything must not ridicule him who abstains from certain foods; the man who abstains must not sit in judgment on him who eats. After all, God himself has made him welcome. Who are you to pass judgment on another servant? His mater alone can judge whether he stands or falls. And stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

ALLELUIA: It is good to acknowledge the Lord and sing to your name, O Most High! Alleluia(3). Verse: To proclaim your mercy in the morning and your truth throughout the night. Alleluia(3). GOSPEL Matthew 6:14-21 The Lord said, For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. COMMUNION VERSE: Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the highest. Alleluia(3). The Prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian O Lord and Master of my life. Do not give me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power and idle talk, but rather give to your servant the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love. Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions and not to judge my brother, for blessed are you for ages of ages, amen.
