WHAT DO THESE WORDS MEAN---------- TRANSFORMED, METAMORPHOSED AND RENEWING? There is a seen world and there is an unseen world. These words, Transformed, Metamorphosed and Renewing are manifested in the seen world by the creative power in the unseen world. Believing requires acting and because this is an entrance to an Unknown a perception of Fear that causes Pain may occur. The choice, are Fear and Pain worth the risk to enter a better quality of life. A Willingness to go beyond the known is all that is initially required. If willing, come join me as we enter the supernatural. These are my thoughts and observations: 1. The answer to the above title will be a surprise. 2. The answer is totally outside of any religious teachings. 3. The answer has been hidden in God s word until science and medicine have made some surprising and incredible discoveries. 4. Understanding and applying God s eternal and immutable laws that Jesus taught are now accessible. 5. It will require moving out of your comfort zone to Believe and Act. To begin this brief inspection and study of God s word I will be examining only three verses and the Greek synonyms that express God s plans and intentions. The expansive and expressive Greek language contains accurate expressions and definitions capable to convey God s unconditional love and plans for blessing His creation. English words were, for the most part, developed from man s beliefs and expressions and fall short to adequately express God s thoughts and plans. The Lexicographer Noah Webster early in the 19 th century attempted to find accurate definitions for thousands of English words. His cultural beliefs embedded in the King James Version are obvious as his definitions of Christian buzz words are read. 1
The Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Hebrew and Greek words in the King James Version of the Bible wasn t published until early in the 20 th century or a century after Noah Webster s Dictionary was published. Christianity, in general, has taken the English words in the King James Version as a literal interpretation to express the character and nature of God and what His plans were for Jesus coming to earth. Let s look at a few significant Christian thoughts from Noah Webster definitions of English words. 1. Saved, in Greek, is sozo and means to be made physically whole. 2. Noah Webster s saved, Accepting forgiveness of sins Jesus made possible with his work on the cross will allow an individual to go to heaven and not hell. 3. Salvation, in Greek, is soteria and has the same meaning as sozo and adds, to prosper. 4. Jesus actions on the cross abolished death and restored immortality. 5. Wrath, in Greek, God is reaching out with tender compassion. 6. Noah Webster says it means anger and Christians add this definition to the character of God. 7. It is appointed unto man, once to die and after this the judgment. This verse in Hebrews 9:27 sounds scary unless you examine the verse using a Greek concordance. 8. In Jewish traditions a certain man will die for the judgment of all men. The correct meaning is comforting. The incorrect definition denies Jesus abolished death. 9. Judgment generally is interpreted by Christians, God is examining your works in order to punish or reward. 10. Judgment generally means, An accurate examination is made in order for an individual to change their perception and do what is right. 11. The word sin is a catch all word and varies from one denomination to another. Generally, Christians believe it is doing something wrong and God will punish you with sickness or poverty or an accident. Or, you will go to hell if you hadn t confessed the sin before you died. 12. The word sin in Greek is hamartia and hamartano and means to miss the mark and fail to collect the prize. 13. Please God means doing works and the more works the more pleased God becomes is the religious definition. 14. Please in Greek means to be in agreement with God. 2
15. Christians believe is necessary to Pray and pray harder and fasting for God to respond and answer a difficult prayer. 16. Pray in Greek means to Go in the direction of God. It also means to supplicate. The word supplicate origin is from a word supple that means to be flexible and move or follow a determined direction. 17. Christians believe Faith is an adjective used to describe someone who has sufficient persuasive ability to convince God to do His will. 18. God says Faith ---Just believe what I have accurately said in my word and what Jesus taught and demonstrated. Avoid the traditions of men. I have been studying the Bible using a Hebrew and Greek concordance for over one year and this short exposure to alternative synonyms other than those used in the King James Version have changed my life beyond description. In my opinion the King James Version has created a belief that Christians must perform and the better the performance God will be pleased. But God gets mad if an individual doesn t perform well and makes mistakes. Let s attempt to understand the intentions of God when He released a few of His thoughts to the disciple, Matthew, and to the apostle, Paul. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Transform------3339. metamorfow metamorphoo, met-am-or-fo'-o From 3326 and 3445; to transform (literally or figuratively, "metamorphose"):-- change, transfigure, transform. Perhaps from the base of 3313 (through the idea of adjustment of parts); shape; figuratively, nature:--form. TRANSFORMED accurately defined can mean, My flesh can be metamorphosed and get new parts. God gave the metamorphosing of a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly as an example for my body to be made new. In order to initiate my Transformation process I must be Born again as a son of God, as Jesus is the Son of God. 3
Jesus, the Son of God, was born again to become a human. I am a human and I am born again to become a son of God. Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. I am counted, Among many brethren. 1. John 3:3 Jesus answered Nicodemus and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 2. I Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. 3. I John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. 4. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Power means a supernatural ability or a metamorphosing. My transformation took place when I regenerated or renovated my mind by thinking and speaking thoughts of being born again as a young and youthful person. This act imparts words, like seeds, that are watered with additional words into my heart. My heart then communicates these new thoughts or seeds to my brain and my brain will create the manifestation of the seeds in my flesh. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Renewing a mind---342. anakainwsiv anakainosis, an-ak-ah'-ee-no-sis From 341; renovation:--renewing. Of uncertain affinity; new (especially in freshness; while 3501 is properly so with respect to age:--new. Including the comparative neoteros neh-o'-ter-os; a primary word; "new", i.e. (of persons) youthful, or (of things) fresh; figuratively, regenerate:--new, young. 4
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. My thought about the process, Born again. I renew my mind every day when my body removes 200 billion out of 150 trillion blood or DNA cells. I speak to the replacement cells to be Living cells and in seven years I will have 150 trillion living and not dying cells in my body. It is a medical fact that every seven years a human body has a total new supply of DNA cells. Mind-----------3563. nouv nous, nooce Probably from the base of 1097; the intellect, i.e. mind (divine or human; in thought, feeling, or will); by implication, meaning:--mind, understanding. Compare 5590. My former Left brain and Right brain are made one mind (the mind of Christ) by the renewing process. Now my intellect and emotions are not divided and my God kind of faith will create the desires of my heart. Transfigured, Transformed and Changed all have the Greek root word metamorphoo that translates to the English word, Metamorphose. This word occurs four times in scripture and is duplicated in Matthew and Mark. In Matthew and Mark the word Metamorphosed was addressing Jesus. Romans and II Corinthians the word addresses a person. In What does Metamorphose actually mean? 1. Matthew 17:2 And Jesus was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 2. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3. II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. My observation is, God has made arrangements for me to become a son of God, like Jesus and the Glory that Jesus has is transferred to me. 5
God sacrificed His only Son to defeat the aging process by abolishing death and this imparts immortality. I have His glory anointing and remaining on me to represent Him on planet earth. This is my Metamorphosing to be a son of God like Jesus is the Son of God. It is now my responsibility to carry on the works Jesus began. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 1. The Gospel is how to live in the kingdom of God. 2. Many are broken hearted because the condemnation message the church has been delivering does not impart hope but fear. 3. Ones who are captive to the condemnation message can be delivered. 4. The correct perception that God is love and does not act apart from love opens the eyes of the spiritually blind. 5. Many are spiritually bruised and God s love will set them free. This message of God s love is what the world desperately needs. The Greater works is living and teaching, Jesus abolished death and restored immortality. c.wardman@cox.net November 06, 2009 6
