Letter from Brian GOD + YOU = FRUITFUL SUMMER e summer of 2013 will soon be coming to a close. And because you partnered with God, it s been very fruitful! Once again so many of you were generous with your time, your skills and abilities, and your financial support. And when God sees that kind of dedication and commitment, he throws the full weight of his influence behind it. 2 Chronicles 16:9 proclaims, For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His (NASB). Let me just celebrate a few of our fruitful moments this summer so far: Our Sunday school program flowed very smoothly even though the construction repairs displaced many classes. anks to an awesome cadre of teachers who demonstrated flexibility and a spirit of adventure. Seventy-one of our Junior and Senior High students advanced their faith at summer camp at Alliance Redwoods. And a few of our younger musicians carried the worship torch making summer camp super special this year. Way to go guys! Sports Camp had its most successful year ever. One hundred staff working with nearly 250 students saw 30 eternal addresses change. Fi y-five percent of those in attendance were not from our church. at s a victory!! Neighborhood Bible Clubs took the love and good news of Jesus directly into nearly a dozen neighborhoods around our foothill region. is brand new effort was very fruitful, as host homes became lighthouses of truth. At the time I m writing this article we ve already seen eight children give their lives to Jesus. is past month, two of our courageous women traveled to Spain to partner with our Alliance Missionaries to engage the students there in e Bridge class (thanks Candi and Deanna). Also this past month close to 100 students and adults once again ministered in areas near Ensenada, Mexico providing needed construction support and spiritual encouragement. is kind of fruitfulness is the result of God finding people like you who are willing to be faithful and commit your time, talent and treasure toward his agenda in our community to see people connect to Jesus and grown to love and serve him! 2 anks for your faithfulness all summer long Brian Sr. Pastor Church of the Foothills

Children s Ministry AWANA 2013-2014 SPORTS CAMP: NEWS FROM KEVIN & DIANNE PASCOE Each morning during the week of June 24, the Merrychase Campus was bustling with 240 excited campers eager to learn new sport skills, hear character lessons, and learn who Jesus was and what he did for all of us. Elementary campers participated in baseball, basketball, dance, flag football, games, gymnastics, soccer, and Taekwondo. Preschool campers had a chance to try a different sport each day. AWANA is a weekly Bible study club for kids, ages preschool through high school. e 2013-14 club year begins Tuesday, September 10th. Registration begins in August: August 11: Priority registration for children of registered volunteers August 18 - September 9: Clubber registration online In order to admit all children seeking to learn about Christ, we need plenty of adults willing to serve as small group leaders. Learn more by going to the Awana page under Ministries at cotf.org. NOTICE: God blessed us with 100 wonderful volunteers. Returning volunteers and new, eager-to-serve volunteers filled the positions of Bible teachers, music leaders, coaches, assistant coaches, registration crew, kitchen crew, tech crew, preschool leaders, photographers, and nurses. It takes many dedicated people to make Sports Camp a success. We do it because it gives us the chance to present the Gospel to children who might never get the chance to come to church. Over 55% of our campers do not attend Church of the Foothills. Many had never heard of the Bible or Jesus. is year thirty children accepted Jesus and seven more rededicated themselves to following Jesus. If we had only reached one camper, it would have been worth it. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our camper parents and grandparents who faithfully brought us their children. We would also like to thank our volunteers, church office staff, maintenance staff, and ministry staff for making Sports Camp possible. SUNDAY SCHOOL Due to repairs being made in our Education Center, our preschool and elementary classes are meeting in the Family Life Center. Look for signs guiding you to our new temporary locations. ere are also temporary tents next to the Worship Center where 4th & 5th grades will meet during the 9:30am service and 3rd-5th grades will meet during the 11am service. *See Excuse Our Dust (page 3) for info. on these repairs.
