The Second Sunday after Epiphany January 20, 2019 10:00 A.M. Green Prelude March of Dedication by Gregg Sewell Festive Processional by Gregg Sewell (You are invited to a time of quiet preparation for worship during the Prelude.) Ringing of the Bell Welcome and Informal Moments Choral Introit *Call to Worship L: In the light of Christ, we come and celebrate! P: Shine through us, O Holy One! L: In the life of Christ, we join our hands and hearts to serve. P: Work through us, Great God! L: In the love of Christ, we gather and rejoice! P: Love through us, Gracious Lord! Come, let us worship. *Opening Hymn Open Now Your Gates of Beauty No. 249 Unison Prayer of Confession and Lord s Prayer Most Merciful God, you call us to serve with our whole lives. Still, we fall short. When we are not quick to reach out and show love and care, forgive us, and lead us as we follow you. When we do not share from the best you have given, pardon us, and open our hands and hearts to give. Transform all of our living into a holy offering of our best selves. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as

we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Words of Assurance Anthem Be Joyful in the Lord by George Philipp Telemann, arr. by Austin C. Lovelace Scripture John 2:1-11 Dianne Davis Time for Children (The children are dismissed to Church School until 11:00 am.) *Hymn The Church Is Like a Table No. 370 Joys and Concerns Pastoral Prayer and Silent Prayer Choral Prayer Response Invitation to Offering Offertory Voluntary by Charles Zeuner *Doxology No. 44 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen (As our morning offerings are brought forward, so too are the non-perishable food offerings from the basket in the Narthex for St. Philip's Food Pantry.) *Unison Prayer of Dedication Good and Gracious God, bless these offerings which we place before you. May the ministries they sustain forever celebrate you! In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
