Friday, May 30, 2014 Lift the Heart of the City: Eucharistic Flash Mob in Market Square Directions to Market Square parking garage 5:30 p.m. Followed by a procession to Immaculate Conception Church Directions for Adoration and Benediction ending at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Aaron Wessman presiding

Participant Instructions The Flash Mob portion will only be about 10 minutes, so it is imperative that units of participants arrive in Market Square in advance. For those not participating in the Flash Mob or procession, please enter Immaculate Conception Church by 5:45 p.m. The procession will arrive about 5:50 p.m. at which time Exposition will begin. Benediction and Divine Praises will begin at 6:30 p.m., so we will be done before 7:00 p.m. Participants in the Flash Mob will be assigned to small social, family size units. When approaching Market Square units will go to random area s within hearing distance of the James Agee plaque, which is a large red square tile in the concrete. It is marked on the attached map with a Sacred Heart. When entering Market Square be nonchalant and engage in conversation, window shopping, watching performers or other typical activities. Deacon Jim Lawson will recite the script over a microphone. Each unit will be assigned a particular verse from the script below which will be their cue to approach the Blessed Sacrament and kneel if you are able. This should assure randomness of adorers and timing when they approach the Blessed Sacrament. Be careful to stay clear of store entrances or marked walkways. You may contact Unit Coordinators, Donna Jones, Deacon Jim Fage and Dr. Elijah Martin or Deacon Dan Hosford to find out if there is a Unit Coordinator in your parish. Deacon Dan Hosford, Al Forsythe and 2 candle bearers will arrive with Fr. Aaron Wessman to form a core unit which will serve as protective zone of sorts for the Eucharist within the first several verses of script before other adorers arrive. At the verse Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone! the units with Dr. Elijah will begin clapping. At the verse, Schools can t explain Him, and Dcn. Jim s and Donna s units will join in the clapping. At the verse, He is light, love, longevity, and Lord! the remaining units join in clapping. The Script ends with, He is my Lord, and He rules my life! At that point everyone ceases clapping and an invitation to Come and Follow Him will be made. All units will process to Immaculate Conception Church for Exposition/Benediction. For those unable to walk simply return to parking garage and drive to ICC. Directions to parking garage. Traffic will not be stopped for us. It is important that all pedestrian/traffic laws are followed and that each unit stops to look both ways before crossing the street. The procession will go slowly, so do not worry if you need to wait for a light to change or traffic to clear. We will have some sort of music to set the pace and reverent atmosphere. Two candle bearers will flank Fr. Aaron as he holds the Eucharist aloft in procession. Youth Coordinators should use their parish code of conduct, transportation, and medical release forms. Participant numbers from each Unit Coordinator are to be submitted to Deacon Dan Hosford by Sunday, May 25.
