The Shepherd s Window We seek to love God through vibrant and meaningful worship, and through the spiritual enrichment of our Family of Faith. We seek to love our neighbors by reaching out to our brothers and sisters at home and around the world. November 2017 Taylorsville Presbyterian Church 279 West Main Avenue Drive P.O. Box 507 Taylorsville, NC 28681 828-632-4257 www.taylorsvillepres.org Greetings Church Family! We are moving headlong into another Fall season which means that Thanksgiving and Advent are right around the corner! It is amazing how quickly the seasons change and move. Our lives are marked by seasons some of them correspond with natural seasons of each year, while others follow cycles of life in families and church. As we move into this upcoming holiday season, may you find a new or renewed connection with God in your life through our church family. Thank you to the Presbyterian Women for hosting another lovely Pastor Appreciation Day! It was a wonderful occasion to mark 10 years of ministry together. The food prepared and shared by everyone was delicious and the fellowship was awesome. Thank you, too, for the PW contribution to the Rotary Performing Arts Stage to honor my service as your pastor. That was a much appreciated gift and one that will contribute to the lasting legacy of the arts in our community. Our Church Retreat last month was such a fantastic experience being led in artistic endeavors by Lisle Gwynn-Garrity of A Sanctified Art in Black Mountain. The image here is a piece of table art from the weekend. There is also a collage of retreat photos on page 4. We have a few finishing touches to put on our worship banners, and are looking forward to presenting them for dedication very soon! You would not believe how nice they are and how much talent we have in our midst! Rita Dejarnette led us in our Bible study, Cloud of Witnesses, Lesson Two. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people We discussed the Bazaar that we were planning for Saturday, October 21 during the Apple Festival. We discussed, decided, & voted as a group that with the money raised from the Bazaar would be sent to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Thank you to everyone who helped with the Bazaar in some way. We also discussed & decided to hold Pastor Appreciation Sunday, October 29. Barbara Hayes volunteered to decorate the tables. A great time of fellowship was had by all! Our next meeting will be on Monday, November 6 at 1pm in the FH. Julie Maroulis will be our hostess and Catherine Burgess will have our Bible study, Lesson Three. All Women of the Church are invited to attend! but is also overflowing in many expressions Thanksgiving Worship & Meal!
