Sri Laka Report Colombo Discipleship School A total of 80 delegates from the 3 CRC churches atteded the recet Discipleship School i Colombo, icludig studets from the CRC miistry Traiig Cetre completig their studies, ad Valaicheai - Sewig School 43 applicatios were received for the course which commeced i Jauary. Facilities oly allow for a maximum of ie studets per class. Three classes per day are held from Moday to Friday for 6 moths. Two of the older girls from the Girls Home are also erolled. Our full time teacher is also helpig other commuity ladies with readig ad writig skills o Saturday afteroos. Vavuiya Preschool Approval has bee grated by the local authorities to commece a preschool i the former Boys Home as soo as possible. Childre s Homes Ispectios coverig all the aspects of the CRC miistry are held regularly ad the roof o the old garage at the Girls Home has bee replaced. Valaicheai - Kalkudah Farm A water tower is curretly uder costructio. This will service the Sewig School ad the proposed buildig of a permaet Miistry Traiig Cetre o portio of the farm property set aside for this purpose. Due to the lack of rai, the last rice harvest was completely lost.

Missioaries to Papua New Guiea Jeremy & Sodra Steel Cross-cultural missio focus is i the blood of both Jeremy ad Sodra Steel. Sodra was bor i PNG whe her parets, Waye ad Lorraie Bowerig, were missioaries there i wet to Erabella Missio i 1973. Whe Jeremy was 18 years old he travelled to PNG to the outer islads of Mile Bay with a missio team from Seato Christia Family Cetre. He kew the that overseas missio was to be his life callig. So whe Jeremy ad Sodra married i 1996 they immediately headed ext 3 years. After a umber of years back i Australia obtaiig further heard God callig them overseas - this time to PNG. O 8th to begi a ew adveture. They had three childre by the: her little suitcase behid. Curretly the family are still livig at Bethel Cetre i their 8th year of missioary service, however, James has retured to Australia to atted high school. Jeremy is o the pastoral team at Bethel Cetre. He was the pricipal of Bethel Bible College Frotier Evagelism Team which outreaches ito remote areas of the Cetral Provece. Jeremy writes: We have a boys team, comprisig of 7 boys this year- they work i remote villages ad udertake evagelism ito ew villages. There is also a girls team, comprisig 4 girls, ad their focus is o literacy traiig - teachig people i remote villages how to read ad write. Over the past few years we have doe several Medical Missios ito remote villages i the Cetral Provice. These medical missios have provided medical treatmet to villages where they have o medical cliics. The earest cliics are several hours walk away. These medical missios have ivolved both PNG medical teams together with a team from Australia. Jeremy also travels aroud the coutry teachig i the provicial o how to start Frotier Evagelism Teams. He also oversees the ruig of SABA bible school i Abepura, West Papua Idoesia. I his spare time he is ivolved with the Youth at Bethel Cetre. fellowship i Bethel Cetre. This year she is also overseeig the ito the local commuity aroud the church. Meawhile, Beji ad Alyssa are thoroughly egaged with other kids at Bethel Cetre ad love the commuity lifestyle there. The whole family is very busy workig side by side with their brothers ad sisters i the Lord to see may come ito the kigdom ad grow i the kowledge of God.

Pioeer Hero Passes Away Auty Jessie was called to rest i her ow village at Mahu, where our CRC outreach is located. Miistry whe Natha was the seior pastor ad Natioal Chairma of CRC Solomo. Weeks later, Jessie was still excited about her ew faith i God ad cotiued to miister to her ow family about the love of Jesus Christ. As a result, her ow sister Simoia, was coviced ad gave her heart to Jesus, ad together they cotiued to witess to the surroudig villages. passed away a few weeks later. Jessie cotiued to love ad my healig from you, I will still love YOU ad worship you. I hospital, she ever stopped talkig about the love of God to family members to hold oto God o matter what happes. Jessie was a perso who was so passioate about God ad desired to see her whole family come to kow Jesus Christ. Shalom Copelad - Missioary from PNG Sister Shalom Copelad is the 11th PNG missioary to be set from Bethel (PNG) to the Solomo Islads. Shalom will be workig with CRC Solomos for 3 years ad will be set to Makira Provice to pioeer our ewly established base i Matawa Village.
