My Dear Friends in Christ, I will keep this note short, because it is two days before Christmas: I m guessing you won t have much time to read! This weekend s Gospel narrates the encounter of Mary and Elizabeth: a familiar scene to us, we are reminded that Elizabeth speaks filled with the Holy Spirit. Here we have, just two days before Christ, a model for encounter. One holds Christ in her body; the other speaks with the power of the Holy Spirit. How might we, during this Christmas season, visiting friends and family, make sure to hold Christ in our hearts and speak always in the Spirit? This challenge is certainly worthy of reflection on the Fourth Sunday of Advent! If you re away visiting family and friends this Christmas, allow me to offer an early promise of Christmas prayers to you and yours! Please pray for me and know I m praying for you. The funds will be used to purchase cases of food during our tougher times in the summer to supplement our food bags for those who come to the pantry. Mass Book and Memorials The Mass Book and Memorials for January through June, 2019 opened in November. At that time, we restricted the number of Masses that could be requested to allow everyone an opportunity to remember family or celebrate events. We are now able to allow anyone to request additional Masses or Memorials through June, 2019. The Mass Book for the remainder of 2019 will open on Tuesday, March 12 th. Contribution Envelopes are available in the Parish Office. If you did not pick them up in the back of church, please stop by the Office. If there is an issue with your envelopes, please call the Office at 963-4205.
