Key Doctrine Election Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, and glorifies sinners.

Baptist Faith and Message (1963) FBCWoodville.com/beliefs/ V. God's Purpose of Grace. Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. It is consistent with the free agency of man, and comprehends all the means in connection with the end. It is a glorious display of God's sovereign goodness, and is infinitely wise, holy, and unchangeable. It excludes boasting and promotes humility. All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. Believers may fall into sin through neglect and temptation, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, bring reproach on the cause of Christ, and temporal judgments on themselves, yet they shall be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. What is going through Paul s mind for his three LONGEST DAYS? Paul was a scholar, learned from Gamaliel His vast O.T. expertise flooded his mind as scripture confirmed who Jesus was Later, he would write Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, etc. 43

Paul told us what he saw Rm. 2:11 no respect of persons with God Rm. 2:16 God judge secrets by Jesus Christ Rm. 3:4 Let God be true every man a liar Rm. 3:10 none righteous, no, not one Rm. 3:20 deeds of law no flesh justified Rm. 3:24 justified freely by his grace Rm. 5:1 justified by faith, we have peace with God 44

Paul told us what he saw Rm. 8:1 Therefore now no condemnation Rm. 8:16 Spirit beareth witness with our spirit that we are children of God Rm. 8:18 sufferings of this time no worthy to be not worthy to be compared with glory to come Rm. 8:29 whom he foreknew, he predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son 45

Paul told us what he saw Rm. 8:36 Who shall separate us from the love Christ? tribulation, famine, peril, sword? Rm. 8:38-39 I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels things present to come nor height depth shall be able to separate from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ 46

Paul told us what he saw Eph. 1:3 blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Eph. 1:4 chosen us in Him before foundation of the world Eph. 1:19 exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe in Christ, raised from dead above all power might dominion, and every name that is named in this world also in that which is to come. 47

Paul told us what he saw Col. 1:12-13 thanks unto the Father, which hath made us partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light Col. 1:14 in whom we have forgiveness of sins Col. 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God Col. 1:16 by Him all things created in heaven in earth, visible and invisible: who is the beginning, the first born from dead 48

What CAN we learn from Paul s journey to Christ during his three Longest Days? For one, God is the one who calls grants sight You are the best YOU no one can be YOU Rest... in that you CANNOT be Paul Nor Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Isaiah or Luke You are called to be YOU yeah, kind of scary 49
