The Maryland Trail PUBLISHED BY THE MARYLAND 4-H CLUB ALL STARS INC. Dear Maryland 4-H All Stars, I don t know what we did to get such great weather during this winter, but I like it. Guess I got my wish about not much snow this winter. This is a very important time of year! By the time this reaches you, scouting reports Will be completed and nominations for new All Stars will be in. Semi-annual conference will be held in Queen Anne s County this year. Information on the conference is found in this trail newsletter. We are still in need of a District Representative for the Lower Shore (Somerset, Wicomico & Worcester). District representatives keep in contact with counties in their area and serve on the Executive Committee of All Stars. If you are interested, please contact me. If your County Chair position changes, please let me know who the new chair is, their address, phone number, and email address. Annual Conference will be held at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD on Saturday, June 24t. This is a very special time when we induct new candidates into the Maryland Chapter of 4-H All Stars. Mark your calendar for this special day. Registration forms for this event are included. Last year s All Star raffle wasn t as successful as has it has been in previous years. The executive board decided to bring back the 50/50 raffle which will be drawn during the 4-H Gala in January. The 50/50 raffle goes to support National 4-H Congress and the Maryland 4-H Congress. Tickets will be available by Semi-Annual Conference. Interstate conference will be back in Maryland this year. We have been planning for the conference which will be held in Frederick County this summer. We have plans to visit northern Frederick County with a visit to Gettysburg. If an All Star in your county passes away, please email me or mail me with the full name, including maidenname, if applicable, date of death, and the date they were taken into All Stars. My email address is Jason.watt@md.nacdnet.net Yours in Service, Jason Jason L. Watt Big Chief

4H ALL STARS RAFFLE On 1/15/2017 the winner of the 50/50 raffle was pulled. Thank you to all of our All Stars who helped to sell 50/50 raffle tickets! We made a total of $1,608 and the winner of $804 was the Queen Anne s County All Stars. They will be using the money to put towards their scholarship fund and the other 50% is enough to send one youth to National 4H Congress. We appreciate all of your assistance with this very well received fundraiser and we look forward to raising even more next year to benefit the Maryland 4H Congress trip fund. Jenn Hiscock
