Hark! The Herald Angels Sing By Michael. Matthew and Anna Espitia During Advent we researched Christmas carols. We came upon one we really liked. Did you know the famous carol Hark! The Herald Angels Sing was written by Charles Wesley In 1739. Did you know Hark means Listen, and that Herald means announcing someone or Something coming? This hymn is based on a poem Wesley wrote. He wrote the poem within a year of His conversion to Jesus Christ. It is a really good song!! Glory to the Newborn King! Pet of the Week Twin the Gerbil By Josiah Ecekrt Twin is one of three gerbils. She is a runt, being the same age as Ratty (who you will hear about in the future) and yet smaller. She is very laid back and likes to listen to some kinds of music once in a while. For such a small size she is very fast (gerbils can outrun cats). She is somewhere from 10-12 months old.
Our Great Seal, What is it All About? By Dinorita Ruiz The central theme on the obverse of our Great Seal is an eagle rising, not resting, with open wings. The eagle has been known for its beauty, strength, courage, keen eyesight and rapid flight. It has been used on the National Seal's of many countries, past and present. In America we have used eagles on our currency, state seals and Seal of the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp. Why though did we use an eagle for our Great Seal? Was it merely for beauty and strength? There is a greater significance in the usage of the eagle then meets the eye. The eagle is mentioned about 30 times in the Bible to represent God's great power. It is used symbolically that we might try to understand God in our physical world. God uses the eagle to describe his rescuing hand in freeing Israel from slavery in Egypt (Exo. 19:4, Deut. 32:14) God also uses it to forewarn the coming destruction on Israel for their disobedience(hos. 8:1, Oba. 1:4) and His rescuing power for those who are his people(isa. 40:31, Rev. 12:14). All in all, the eagle is a symbol of the Divine Providence of God in human affairs. The eagle represents the People of the United States, who by Divine Providence joined together as one nation to rise independently in union with open wings. It is also important to note that Benjamin Franklin strongly opposed the usage of the eagle because they were known for stealing food from other animals whenever the opportunity arose. He worried that the eagle would symbolize a government that would become more powerful and take advantage of the people whenever opportunity arose. Hmmm?

Who am I? 1. Before I became a Christian, I persecuted Jews and Gentiles alike. I would have them killed if they believed in God s one and only son. Then one day I was traveling, and an angel came to me and told me to go into Damascus and that I would be told what to do when I got there. I was blinded and couldn t see until a Godly man named Ananias placed his hands on me and told me that when I saw again I would be filled with the Holy Spirit. And so something like scales fell from my eyes and I could see! Now, I proclaim the word of God to many Gentiles in many different cities. Who am I?????? 2. I am the earthly Father of the Son of God.
