Presidential Address It is hard for us to believe that a full year has almost passed since we took office of Vice President and then President. It has been quite an experience, especially since we had never held an office in any square dance club. Without the great support from all of you, we could not have met the challenges. A BIG THANKS to all of our officers and club members! I know you will continue to help the new board which will take office April 1. The proposed officers were posted on the bulletin board at the last dance, and will be posted again at our March 2 nd dance. We will have the Quarterly Meeting on March 16 th (which is also our St. Patrick s dance). At that time we will vote on these candidates. Jerry and Sally Malone, along with Mike and Pat Pediman are chairing the St. Patrick s Dance. Wear your green! Paul & Quida Bellows are chairing the Cuarto de Mayo Anniversary Dance. We have some great flyers designed by Jodie Baldwin. We have already begun distributing these to other clubs. Sally Malone designed our Promenade ads for both the Anniversary and the St. Patrick s dances really nice! We are looking forward to a great time at these dances with lots of visitors. NORTEX has a newly formed committee GRAM (Growth, Retention and Motivation). They are presenting a no cost seminar Sunday, March 4 th at 2:00 PM at Swingtime Center. Jim & Marcia Langdon, President of the Timberline Toppers of Frisco, CA. are going to teach us how they increased their club from 12 members to over 200 in a five-year period. The seminar would be beneficial for all our members to attend, if possible. You can read all about it on page 34 of the February Promenade. The seminar will be followed by the Teen Scholarship Dance for those who want to stay. At the February NORTEX meeting we also learned about some changes for Roundup 2012. It is scheduled for October 27 th, with a change of location. It will be held at the Sterling Hotel, 1055 Regal Row, Dallas. They have a large dance hall, plenty of rooms for overnight guests, places to sit and have coffee and snacks, and restaurants close by. This sounds like it will be a lot more convenient for those of us in the Dallas area. The feature caller will be a young man, Hunter Keller, who is supposed to be great. It s early, but start making your plans to attend. In closing, we love you all and thank you for being such a great group. Hollis & Ken In Swing Stars Banners Out

What s Happin Kuzzins!!!!! It is with profound sorrow that I ask you to pray for Mary Jane and Winston Hoskins, upon the death of their son, David, this afternoon in his home of pancreatic cancer. David had explored the possibility of clinical trials at the National Institute of Health in Baltimore this past January, but before he was accepted, the cancer spread to his liver which eventually led to liver failure. David had been receiving hospice care for the last couple of weeks. David taught Fine Arts at Hudson Middle School (GISD) in fact began teaching fine arts there upon the school s opening. David lived with his wife, Jana. He was 52 years old upon his passing. I have spoken with and prayed with Mary Jane and Winston. We remembered his excellence at teaching, his love of people and commended his spirit to God s care. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time. The Hoskins live at: 1937 Merrimac Trail, Garland, TX, 75043. You may email them at: winormj@aol.com, or call (972)278-1582. Rev. Dan Jones, Senior Minister Let s not forget about Sandra Fatheree in our prayer. It was such a shock to hear of George s passing. Please keep her in mind at this difficult time. Ken had his heart cauterization test today, and praise God, he got a good report. All the arteries that were bypassed three years ago are open, and there was only one small place of disease - too small to cause any concern. Thanks to all of you for your concern and prayers. Hollis This is JL s schedule for dances other than the Kuzzins for the month of March Saturday - March 3 - Solitaires, Chapel Hill United Methodist, Farmer's Branch - ER 7:00, GM 7:45 Saturday - March 10, Cotton Pickin Squares, Greenville - ER at 7:30, GM 8:00 Sunday - March 25, 2:00-5:00, Spring Rounds, Phase 2-4, Swingtime Center, Ft. Worth WANTED: A square dancer (female) to wear a Kussin Kuzzin jacket, former worn by Judy Hancock size Medium. Please call Joanne Patrick (214) 785-3924 if you re interested. To All KK Trusting and Adventurous Travelers: Plans are coming along nicely for our Mystery Bus Trip, and the bus is filling up. You don t want to miss out, so call and tell us if you d like us to save a seat or two. Friends, family members, etc., are very welcome. As always there will be games and prizes (maybe a sing-a-long too), and everyone will have a chance to win. If you have special needs, such as meal requests, first floor hotel room (an elevator is available); there will be some walking involved, so let us know if you d prefer a wheel chair. We have a few single women who would like to attend but are in need of a roommate; do you know of any women who might be interested. The total cost of the trip is $860 per couple or $430 per single (double occupancy). A down payment of $225 (couple) or $120 (single) is due upon signing up. The remainder is due by April 6 (first dance). If you want to split the cost up, you can pay some in March as well as April. Just make checks payable to Kissin Kuzzins and note it is for MBT. Then mail to our treasurers, George and Hazel Nelson. Remember, everything is included (tour cost, meals, tips for meals and bus driver). The only cash you ll need to bring will be for souvenirs, incidentals, or alcohol. We ll provide more information as we get closer to our April 26 date departure time, medical release forms, usual bus protocol, etc. Everything but the destination, of course. Mike and Joanne Patrick Those who were at the McKinney Concert Saturday February 4 th got to see our own Jerry Malone being serenaded on stage by the Abbacadaba beauties. It may take a while to get all of that drool out of Jerry s shirt.

An Old Irish Blessing May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and home. May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam. May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures. May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours!
