Welcome to Worship at Wellesley Village Church! An Open & Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ We Welcome All! We extend a welcome as broad as the outstretched arms of God, who calls us together to pray, sing, and rejoice in God s glorious presence. From the tallest to the smallest we worship best as the whole people of God. We welcome children to participate fully in worship. During First Worship, children worship with us in our more informal service. Childcare ages 0-3 is available during Second Worship. Children ages 4 through 8th grade begin in Second Worship and may proceed to classes if they choose. Youth programs are also held in evenings. Please see the blue resource folder for more information. We value community! Please wear a nametag; temporary stickers are available and you may request a permanent nametag anytime. Visitors, please sign the Welcome Book in First Worship or the fellowship pads in the Second Worship pews. Your contact information will help us connect you to our community. Keep up to date with Village Church happenings by subscribing to our weekly Enews, contact Erin Donato at erin@wellesleyvillagechurch.org or at 781-235-1988, x11. We want to be in step with our Servant King on his daily march of justice and joy, but we are often out of step. We wander more than we follow. We look for smooth roads and easy journeys, and we lose the way. In the silence now, help us confess the times we have wandered and the help we need. Help us ask for what you always give healing, pardon, and peace.

Change to Holy week Schedule This year we are trying something new! We are combining the Easter Vigil and Sunrise Service into one service. Beginning at 5 am on Easter Sunday, we ll keep vigil with a fire on the driveway next to the churchyard. In prayer, silence and conversation, we ll await the dawn. At 6:30 am, we will have a brief Sunrise Service in the churchyard, followed by communion and breakfast in the Chapel. Breakfast will be potluck style with coffee and pastries provided by the church; bring what you can to share. Come when you can and as you are (even in your PJs!).

Our Church Covenant We are banded together as a Christian Church to maintain the worship of God, to proclaim the gospel of Christ, to develop in all people a consciousness of their relations and duties to God and to each other, and to inspire them with love for truth, passion for righteousness, and enthusiasm for service. To this end we pledge our loyalty to Christ and covenant with each other to express God s spirit in our individual and corporate life; to live together as Christians and to submit ourselves to the government of this Church, working, giving, praying for its increase, its purity, its peace, and seeking in every way to make it a power for the building up of the kingdom of God.
