FCC Dream Team Meeting Minutes Sunday, August 9, 2015 Attendance:,, Trudy Sprinkle, Roy & Dorothy King, Deana Schepp, Deon & Sherry Watson, Robbie Pepper, Janet Sanders, Sammie Morris, Nancy Brogdin, Ron Hayes, John & Janet Bilyeu, Steve & Alicia Snelgrooes, Jim & Susie Osborne, Gerald & Cheryl Lilley, & Barbara Nichols The list of teams was passed around for individuals to sign up for additional teams if they were interested. Various hand outs were made: First Worship Service after the GoTell Crusade: Welcome nametags on Greeters who are all over the place Map of classrooms & guide to get there No claiming that I m sorry, you re in my seat! New Believers Class ready to go Yard & garden areas tip-top condition Church members who can please park in farther spots Other suggestions???? Divine Collaboration First we come together, we value one another, and we add value to one another. Second we recognize we as individuals don t have all the tools or ideas necessary to pull off the dream we share together. Third it is the only way to discover great ideas. We are better together!! ~John Maxwell Collaboration is the great idea that comes out of the total of what is put on the table. That s where God stirs the creative pot, invites us to trust for a divine response, and diving guidance & wisdom & courage are born. Updates from the following teams were given: Publicity/Communication Angel Grant has done a wonderful job at keeping the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Pampa, TX Facebook up to date. She is trying to alternate with informational & spiritual postings. If you have anything you would like to see posted, please get the information to one of the team members. (list will follow at end of minutes) The team will be meeting soon & will then discuss with the Worship team about doing web site training during worship, maybe monthly for a period of time, so all individuals become familiar with how to find information on the FCC website (http://www.fccpampa.org). Also discussed was having a bulletin board of some kind put together in the foyer of the church with the weekly & upcoming events. Rick Gage will be preaching at FCC Sunday, August 16 @ 7:00 pm. Possible Advertising ideas discussed were advertising through Cinema 4. You pay a monthly cost & your ad will play before the movie previews. Also, another idea was posting the weekly sermon title on the MK Brown marquee.

We have people showing up for church prior to Sunday School getting out, so if you are a Greeter, please plan on leaving Sunday School around 10:30 am so we have a presence in the foyer. Do we need to have a Greeter team established?? Do we need to reevaluate the greeter schedule?? Outreach A survey is in the works & will hopefully be ready to go out in 2 weeks. Other ideas discussed were having some non-traditional events, such as helicopter dropping eggs during Easter & a carnival. It was decided that these ideas needed to be evaluated further during the individual Team meeting. Bereavement Susie Osborne brought up the need for this additional team. Susie is about the only member left on this team. Please consider joining in this area if you are able. Prayer The prayer calendar was passed out Sunday, August 2 & is also available on the church website & is attached at the end of these minutes. It will also be made available to be passed out each week. A prayer meal & games is currently being planned for some time in October. An idea was mentioned to put a link on the FCC Facebook page for the prayer calendar and an email link the website for prayer requests to be submitted. You can also write your suggestions on the note paper in the bulletin and turn it in with your offering or send a note to fccpampaprayers@gmail.com or message any of us on messenger or text Janet Bilyeu at 806-440-2979 or at 806-662-9321. Next Generation A postcard will be going out this week telling the updates for the next week activities. A social is also in the planning to invite young adults. Youth - The youth group will be having their Back to School Kick off on Wednesday, August 26 starting at 6:00 pm and we are inviting the community. We will be serving hot dogs & there will be inflatables in the South field as well as inside Family Life Center for the smaller kids. The company we are renting from will have individuals to run the activities, but volunteers are needed to help with crowd control at the inflatables, serve food, etc. If you are able to help, please contact one of the Youth Team ASAP. There will also be a fundraiser dance on Friday, August 28 from 7:00 10:00 pm. And again, we are in need of volunteers to help chaperone this event. We need individuals to show up @ 6:30 & everyone should be gone by 10:15 pm. You do NOT have to stay the entire time, if you could volunteer for any period of time, it would be greatly appreciated!! This is the 1 st dance of the school year & has proven to be a HUGE fundraiser for the youth. Barbara is working with the youth & they will be involved in the service ~ 1 a month. Each month the youth hosts a BIG event. The schedule for the next couple of months is as follows: August Kick off August 26 starting @ 6pm September Activities around Rick Gage Crusade September 9 is the Youth Night @ MK Brown they will be feeding the kids & then there will be BMX bikers, a speaker & band

September 16 Rick Gage Crusade Youth Night @ the PHS Football field October Trunk or Treat date to be determined. All Teams are invited to put together a table or trunk & participate. So start thinking of ideas now. The possibility of doing it on a night other than the Wednesday before Halloween is being considered in hopes of more people attending. Christian Education Valerie Moody will be at FCC on Sunday, August 16. Everyone is invited to bring a favorite dish to Fellowship Hall to share in a fellowship dinner immediately following morning worship. The meal will be followed by a presentation by Valerie on the Biblical feasts. Green Team Robbie Pepper brought up the need for this team. You may sign up Sunday if you would like to be a member of this team. The purpose for the GREEN TEAM is to run the vegetable garden, landscaping for the church and start a recycling program. The Disciples of Christ denomination has an award or designation called Green Chalice for those that accomplish criteria related to the goals of the GREEN TEAM. Robbie s prayer and hope is that all ages (not just adults) will join her on this team. WE need to have the outside of the church looking good to attract people to the inside; there are also a lot of young people in our community that need food that we can supply with the garden; we can meet our neighbors by including them in the garden as a true community garden; and the recycling will help us be responsible stewards of our little section of the earth. Please join Robbie on the GREEN TEAM and help make a difference. Miscellaneous Community Christian School will be joining our facilities. They will be moving in starting August 15 with their school year starting Wednesday, August 26. Please consider them when planning functions, we would like for them to be invited to all functions offered at FCC. Everyone was reminded changes have to be presented to & approved by the board. The question of Could the Dream Team become the new board was presented. This is something that will have to be looked into further, due to current by-laws of the church. All Teams are encouraged to meet with their members & have an update ready for the next meeting. Roy King closed us in prayer. Next Meeting is Sunday, August 23 @12:30 pm (brown bag lunch) Attachments are below
