Confession and Forgiveness P Blessed be the holy Trinity, + one God, who creates us and forms us, who redeems us and calls us, who unites us and sends us. P Gathered in God s presence, let us confess our sin. P Mighty and loving God, C we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We seek our own way. We divide the body of Christ. In your mercy, cleanse us and heal us. Let the words of our mouths, the thoughts of our hearts, and everything that we do be filled with faith, hope, and love. Amen. P Hear the voice of Jesus: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to proclaim release to the captives. In the name of + Jesus Christ, I proclaim to you that your sins are forgiven and you are released. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are yours forever. Greeting P The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. C And also with you. Gloria 2

Meal Offering The February Faithful Ones are designated to support those affected by the federal government shutdown. This includes federal employees and contractors not receiving a paycheck due to the shutdown, though some have been ordered to work. These individuals are experiencing anxiety about their financial and employment future, and are having to make hard decisions about how to pay the rent and utilities, and provide food and medical care for their families. Network of Community Ministries and North Dallas Shared Ministries are two local organizations providing assistance for people in need, including food, rent, utilities and/or clothing. If you wish to offer additional funds for these ministries, please use an envelope found in the pew. Checks should be made out to King of Glory with Faithful Ones in the memo. In Remembrance of Me Ragan Courtney & Buryl Red In remembrance of me, eat this bread. In remembrance of me, drink this wine. In remembrance of me, pray for the time when God s own will is done. In remembrance of me, heal the sick. In remembrance of me, feed the poor. In remembrance of me, open the door and let your brother in. Take, eat, and be comforted. Drink, and remember, too. That this is my body and precious blood, shed for you. In remembrance of me, search for truth. In remembrance of me, always love. In remembrance of me, don t look above, but in your heart for God. Do this in remembrance of me. 4

Prayer P Let us pray: God of all creation, C all you have made is good, and your love endures forever. You bring forth bread from the earth and fruit from the vine. Nourish us with these gifts, that we might be for the world signs of your gracious presence in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. Great Thanksgiving P The Lord be with you. C And also with you. P Lift up your hearts. C We lift them to the Lord. P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C It is right to give our thanks and praise. Words of Institution With these words, the pastor consecrates the elements for Holy Communion. Lord s Prayer C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. The congregation may be seated. Agnus Dei Distribution of Communion At King of Glory we welcome all who believe Jesus Christ is present for and with us in the bread and wine. Ushers will guide you forward to a station: take a wafer (gluten-free can be requested) and dip in the wine or white grape juice. Children and adults not communing are invited to come forward for a word of blessing. Open hands show you wish to receive communion; folded hands show you want a blessing. For those unable to come forward, please let and usher know for us to bring the sacrament to you. Hymns 470 Draw Us in the Spirit s Tether UNION SEMINARY 481 Come to the Table COME TO THE TABLE 5

Blessing P The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in His grace. Prayer after Communion P Let us pray: We thank you, O God, that you have fed us at your banqueting table with bread and wine beyond compare, the very life of Christ for us. Send your Spirit with us now, that we may set the captive free, use your gifts to build one another up, and in everything reflect your glory revealed in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Sending Sending of Communion P O God of tender compassion, as you healed the sick and welcomed the stranger, bless those who leave this assembly to share the gifts of this table with our sisters and brothers who are sick and homebound. May they be sustained by the love and prayers of this community, and by the Bread of life that satisfies all hunger, Jesus Christ our Lord. Benediction Just as we began, we end worship in the Name of the Triune God. P The God of glory dwell in you richly, name you beloved, and shine brightly on your path; and the blessing of almighty God, the Father, the + Son, and the Holy Spirit, be upon you and remain with you always. Sending Hymn 547 Sent Forth by God s Blessing THE ASH GROVE Dismissal P Go in peace. Christ is your light. C Thanks be to God. We are sent into the world, loving one another as Christ first loved us.
