Pre-Kinder (Age 4 and up) Adult Faith Formation Registration will begin after all Sunday Masses on August 5 and August 12 and during Religious Education Office hours beginning August 5. Please consider which program(s) will fulfill the spiritual needs of your children or yourself this upcoming year. Pre-K (CGS): Montessori-based formation program (cgsusa.org) for 4-6 year olds who are potty trained & have met program readiness (Classes: Sun. 9:40-10:40am) K 8 th grades: Several religious education class options are available for this age group. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion begin in the 1 st grade with the sacraments celebrated in the 2 nd grade. Children in 3 rd grade or above wanting to celebrate the sacraments should inquire with the religious education office. (Classes: Sun. 9:40-10:40am, Weds. 4-5:15pm (snack provided), Weds. 6:15-7:30pm (snack provided)) Adaptive Religious Education: Faith Formation for Youth with Downs Syndrome, Autism and/or other special challenges (Classes: Sundays and Wednesdays) For program info, please contact, Mrs. Tina Panek, Catechist and OLMC Adaptive RE Coordinator at 633-9613. 9 th 12 th grades (TGIF) Teens Growing in Faith: High school students receive their faith formation through the TGIF program. TGIF is led by a strong group of devoted adult volunteers to help grow the Catholic faith of your high school student and assist in their preparation & celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation involves two years of formation and participation in the TGIF program starting in the 9 th grade. All 9 th 12 th grade students interested can begin their journey to the reception of Confirmation as they grow their Catholic faith through TGIF. Attendance requirements apply and begin on the first day of TGIF classes. Those that have already received the Sacrament of Confirmation should continue to attend this high school faith formation program to strength their Catholic faith, serve their parish in leadership by helping with TGIF and enjoy fun & fellowship too! (Classes: Sundays 6:45-8:30pm) Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) (Classes: Sunday beginning at 9:30am) is for the following: a) Adults (18 years of age and over who are not Catholic & who would like to receive more information about the Catholic faith). b) Baptized Catholic adults who may not have received First Communion or Confirmation yet, who would like to be prepared for those Sacraments. c) Any adult interested in learning more about the teachings of the Church, contact Modesto Hernandez, RCIA/RCIC/Adult Faith Formation Director at 643-3548. Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) (Classes: Sun. 9:40-10:40am) falls under the RCIA program and is for the following: a) Children ages 7-17 who are NOT baptized may be enrolled. After completion of RCIC, children are prepared to enroll in Religious Ed classes the following year. Adult Faith Formation opportunities are available for any adult wanting to grow in their faith and relationship with the Holy Trinity. Stay up-to-date by viewing our weekly parish bulletins and website. students receiving their formation by their parents or through their Catholic School are encouraged to register in the OLMC faith formation program to assist in the formation & celebration of the sacraments at the parish. 6 th 8 th grades (YGIF) Youth Growing in Faith is a Middle School Youth Group that meets weekly. Vacation Bible School is a fun-filled week of faith formation normally held during the month of June.
