The Ascension of the Lord e 1, 2014 The Ascension of the Lord As they were looking on, Jesus was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. Acts 1:9 And have the bright immensities received our Risen Lord, where light years frame the Pleiades and point Orion s sword: Do flaming suns His footsteps trace through corridors sublime, the Lord of interstellar space and conqueror of time? Mediator between God and man, judge of the world and Lord of hosts, he ascended, not to distance himself from our lowly state but that we, his members, might be confident of following where he, our Head and Founder, has gone before. Mass for the Ascension of the Lord The heaven that hides Him from our sight knows neither near nor far; a little candle sheds its light as surely as a star. And where his loving people meet to share the gift divine, there stands He with unhurrying feet; there heavenly splendors shine. Howard C. St. Augustine Church is now using Fair Trade Coffee for all our parish events. WHAT IS FAIR TRADE? Quality Products. Improving Lives. Protecting the Planet. Products that bear the Fair Trade logo come from farmers and workers who are justly compensated. Farmers in developing countries are assisted in building sustainable businesses that positively influence their communities. Using Fair Trade products is one of the easiest ways we can show compassion and solidarity towards our brothers and sisters in developing areas of the world. Every year when we donate to Catholic Relief Services, we are funding education programs for these faraway farmers. Using Fair Trade products such as coffee is a way to support them throughout the year. A NEW WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE IS COMING!
