Grace Community Church Lead Pastor Search 3 Grace Community Church Overview Thirty year old suburban Denver church of 500 weekend attendees Regional church (located off of I-25 in Centennial, CO) attracting attendance from a variety of close and distant communities Current weekend schedule consists of one Saturday PM gathering and two Sunday AM gatherings Member church of the Assemblies of God while actively reaching beyond denominational ties in relationships and best practices Annual operating budget of $1.1M with 25% of all giving to local, national and international ministries and causes that GCC drives or supports Target demographic is suburban families with children but with intentional inclusion and active participation across all generations Spiritual development strategy for children and youth orients around close and active partnership with parents Planted three churches, two in Colorado and one in Texas Ministry volunteers comprise 35% of weekend attendees with each volunteer fulfilling 1.7 volunteer ministry roles Small group participation averages 43% of weekend attendance with 17 active adult small groups Organization Early Childhood Children Executive Pastor Ministry Pastors Volunteer Directors Youth Creative Arts Lead Pastor Business Administrator Finance & Administration Pastoral Care Teaching Pastor Missions, Small Groups Eleven full and part-time staff members including Lead Pastor position
Grace Community Church Lead Pastor Search 4 Lead Pastor Position Summary Responsible for o o o Communicating ministry vision and direction Communicating (teaching/preaching) the Word of God in an inspirational, relational style Ongoing development and strategic communication of Vision, Strategy, Culture, Values statements Accountability to an elected leadership Board Leadership collaboration with an Executive Leadership Team (ELT) responsible for pastoral ministry, finance and day to day operations Primary duties will include teaching/preaching 35-40 weekends per year including Easter, Thanksgiving eve and Christmas eve Additional duties can include ministry participation in missions/outreach, spiritual/personal formation and adult education Lead Pastor Ideal Candidate Profile A visionary leader with proven Lead Pastor experience or senior level leadership experience and outstanding teaching/preaching skills May have traditional evangelical Christian church background but must have demonstrable experience in non-traditional approach to reaching out to and cultivating relationships with non-believers Demonstrated ability to work in harmony with and accountability to an elected church leadership advisory Board Demonstrated ability to partner with an executive leadership team responsible for pastoral, operational and financial execution Gift mix should be visionary, teacher/preacher, evangelist, leader, communicator, relater, a genuine love for people Undergraduate degree, theological/seminary training/degree preferred, credentialed minister with 10/15 years ministry experience
Grace Community Church Lead Pastor Search 5 Leader with life/business experience outside the church, who is also working/struggling with challenging real-life issues, is a plus Must lean young, relate to young families and youth/college ages as well as successfully interact with empty nesters and seniors Must appreciate/understand music that is relevant/on the edge/theologically sound that connects youth & young families Must articulate and practice a love for people who don t yet know God, pursuit of spiritual maturity and cultivation of community Must demonstrate commitment to developing leaders and related results Should demonstrate a church background that shows stable work record and growth with leadership through significant change Denominational affiliation is open, but solid evangelical background preaching/teaching a balance of grace and truth is required Must be comfortable discussing significant failures and how they were addressed Must embrace GCC Vision, Mission, Values, Strategy & Culture Muti-site and/or multi-venue experience or leadership is a plus Successfully focuses on key tasks and objectives and strategically connects with key relationships Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Denver, Colorado area
