6 April Local Church Budget Daddy I love Church! those were the words of my 5 year old as I (Greg) got ready to go to Sabbath School and church with him after a few busy weekends away. At that moment I realised the power of an intergenerational church where the parents and grandparents both young and old love, cared for and supported one another. A church that is not only teaching him Jesus but is showing him Jesus through their actions. Today our offering is for our church right here, it s to resource you and I to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and to strengthen our ability to Shape for Mission. Your giving today you will assist our church in resourcing the various ministries both on Sabbath and throughout the week. From children s ministries to various kinds of evangelism, small groups to communication and the production of the bulletin even the bills that need to be paid or assist in purchasing boxes of Bibles, your generosity today assists in supporting your church and our mission right here in our community. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malacai 3:10 May we give in order that we can continue to grow and build the church and have a greater impact in sharing the love of Jesus. As we return our tithes and give our offerings for our church budget today may it continue to support and resource the work of our church and allow us to continue to grow your kingdom I our community where we live. Dear God. Through the little that we give may you bless it to have a kingdom impact both here in our local community and in our church around the world. Thank you that we are a part a wonderful world wide movement and are able to resource your work around the world right where we live in this way. Amen

Hope Channel 13 April Hope Channel is the official television network in Australian and the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with more than 30 affiliate channels around the world, each meeting local needs in the local language. Our mission is to share God's good news for a better life today and for eternity. Hope channel provides programs that enrich faith, help to live healthy, strengthen relationships, and be a better citizen. You offerings today will support the message Jesus being spread even more effectively throughout Australia and the South Pacific. Please give to support the ministry of Hope Channel to transform live right in their home. Lord may our offerings support the gospel of Jesus being spread throughout the world, change hearts and transform communities.

20 April Education Week of Worship is a highlight for our schools, these special events are a time when the school intentionally puts aside time each day apart from the daily worships for the students to come and have a time of spiritual emphasis. They usually include enjoyable ice breakers and challenges, worship through music and song, times of prayer, dramas, testimonies and a message, often delivered by a guest speaker. These special weeks are not only a spiritual high for the schools but they are also a time when we see the spirit move powerfully through the School community as decisions for Jesus are made with hundreds of students making a stand for Jesus and even baptism. It is also not uncommon for parents and even teachers to also make a stand for Him at these events. What a wonderful missional opportunity! The challenge is are we as a church faithfully following up these decisions? It is through your support of our schools that events like these are even possible because it is when we work and do discipleship united together in our church, school and home that we see a wonderful discipleship movement arise that is growing more and better disciples for His kingdom. Today as you give know that your offering changes lives and grows disciples both now and for eternity! May we give today to support the ministry and mission of our schools as they grow disciples Lord as we give today we ask that you may build up our schools to further your mission in South Queensland, we pray that as a church we may faithfully disciple the children within our care to be followers of You. Amen. Note: Be sure to read the South Queensland Conference Focus magazine, our website and join our conference Facebook site where you will find the latest news and stories of education throughout our conference to share with your church when announcing the offering.

Local Church Budget 27 April Our local church is the Ekklesia which is the Greek work for Called out community of believers We have been called out to be called in to our communities to share the amazing love of Jesus with our friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues, any and every one who we come into contact with day by day. In Matthew 5 we are told by Jesus that we are the salt and light of the earth. That we are to be the change agents where we live, the light on a hill to those around us, we are to not just preach about being an Ekklesia but we are to live it. So how are we being salt and light in our community day by day? If we are to take a quick snapshot of our local church throughout South Queensland we find some churches are handing out pineapples to members of their community, others facilitate a stand in a market or at the local show. Health clinics, seminars, fitness boot camps and recipe clubs as some health initiatives churches are leading out and sharing with their community. Still other churches and even schools in our conference are sharing the love of Jesus by transforming people s front or backyards in their local community or sending Storm-Co and other teams of members on trips to country towns and radically changing lives through meeting the needs of people. Our offerings today go to assist our church in the ongoing cost to facilitate ministries and empower our church to continue to shape for mission. Your generosity supports and resources our church to be that light on the hill in our community every moment of every day. May we give generously to support the mission of our church in our community and may we be the church that has a transformational impact on our friends, family and neighbours as we shine our light and season our community with acts of service. Dear God. We give today knowing that our offering supports and resources your church to be the salt and light in our community and as we shape for mission may we be compelled to love our local community like never before and may they see you through our actions. Amen.

4 May SPD Record Did you know? Adventist Record is more than a magazine that informs, inspires and nurtures church members across the South Pacific. As well as the print magazine you ve always known and loved, Adventist Record is now a website that s updated daily, a dynamic Facebook and Twitter page, inspirational videos... all to serve you in more ways and more places. Adventist Record has been spotted in some diverse settings, from prisons in PNG, to marketplaces in Solomon Islands, to fruit stalls in Cook Islands and of course the magazines find their way into churches all throughout our Pacific region. But all of this is only possible through your continued support. By giving to the Adventist Record offering you ensure that we can continue to tell our stories, connect our family and share our hope. Your offerings today will support the continued publication of this wonderful news resource both in print and online. It is through your generosity Record can have an impact both here in Australia and around the South Pacific. Lord today as we give may our offerings continue the work of Record in sharing the good news of how you are transforming lives both here and around the South Pacific. Amen

Education 11 May Every day thousands of children are entrusted into our care for up to 6-8 hours a day. We are blessed as a church to have an outstanding team of hundreds of teachers, chaplains and staff led by a wonderful team of Spirit-led Principals seeking to connect and introduce these students into a relationship with Jesus. Further to this we have thousands of parents, grandparents and family who are also connected and invested in the life of our schools through their children who also may not yet know Jesus. What a fantastic opportunity to witness to these families in being the Christ Centred Church community every day! There is power when we intentionally connect he home, school and church together in mission and seeking to raise the next generation to not only know Jesus but lead our church forward into the future until Jesus comes. Today you have the opportunity to support our schools here in South Queensland through the giving of your offerings. Further still why not think about how you could support our schools with your time, effort or skills. Maybe you could send a simple card of encouragement to the principal and staff, maybe you could support a family you know to attend one of our schools or maybe it is intentionally offering up the school in prayer knowing through your support, your schools are changing lives every day! May we realise that we are stewards of one of the greatest mission fields in our care, our schools and through your support together we are able to empower our schools to be the living and breathing expression of Jesus every day! Lord today we offer up our schools throughout our conference to you, we pray that you may bless and empower our principals, teachers, staff and students as they meet together each day and that you may continue to be lifted up through our schools to our friends, family and community amen. Note: Be sure to read the South Queensland Conference Focus magazine, our website and join our conference Facebook site where you will find the latest news and stories of education throughout our conference to share with your church when announcing the offering.

18 May SPD Strategy Health Ministry In Dec 2004 smoking was finely banned in all enclosed spaces as research showed that three (3) cigarettes a day could reduce ones life span by 10 years. Now sitting is the new smoking. The latest research now shows that extended sitting without regular daily exercise could bring on an early death, especially to the 94% of inactive women who fit into this category compared to 48% of inactive men in Australia. Sitting or lying down for too long increases your risk of chronic health problems, such as obesity heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, stroke and cancers. Too much sitting can also be bad for your mental health. The risk of both anxiety and depression is higher in people that sit more. Sitting is now new smoking. The focus for our health week in 2019 is on regular EXERCISE which aims to encourage everyone to be more active every day. In this context we promote to you the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP), Depression Recovery and the Live More Project, as programs which focus on the importance of exercise and other important interventional strategies in reversing chronic disease and depression. If you want to live well and retire well, then we have to reduce our sitting time. Your offering today will enable us to keep building on the resources that are so desperately needed for promoting health and lifestyle and behaviour change for better health. Lord may our offerings today continue the important work of sharing gospel through health ministry in local churches around our conference and throughout the South Pacific. Amen

Local Church Budget 25 May By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35 I am a member of this church because my neighbour invited me to come and join him and I am never leaving because I have found my home. My church loves me! Those were the words of a young man I (Greg) met as I shook hands at the door after a recent worship service. I was left praising God for this young man as it highlighted the power of intentionally sharing with and loving just the one person next to us. Your power to have an eternal impact and disciple those around you is something that should never be discouraged but encouraged because it is through you and your love that we are able to show our friends, family and neighbours the love of Jesus. Today you are being a change agent, as you give you are empowering your church community to love your community by being Jesus hands and feet. Your resources are the fuel to equip the church to shine on the stand, reflecting His love and grace to your city. Through your generosity you are enabling your church where you belong to bring love, life, meaning, hope and purpose to those who are not a part of your church family yet Lord, may we love our friends, family, neighbours and community like you do and may this offering be used to extend that love beyond the walls of our church. Lord, please give us a heart for those who are not here yet. Amen

1 June Local Church Budget How are you shaping for mission? How is your church shaping for mission? What are the plans your church has for reaching your community this year? If we stop and think about what our church does it is through our intentional efforts, dedication and desire to share Jesus that they even exist. From the usual Sabbath morning Sabbath School to the worship service, lunches, Pathfinders and adventurers, care and community support ministries, socials and more. We are blessed to be a blessing and it is through being a part of an intergenerational church community that nurtures, supports and loves one another that Jesus is revealed. Your generosity of your time, talent and treasure supports your church in achieving its God given mission and vision in your town and community and we know we were are generous with what we have and who we are then we really are blessed as Malacai says 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malacai 3:10 As we return our tithes and give our offerings for our church budget today may it continue to support and resource the work of our church and allow us to continue to grow the kingdom in our community where we live. Dear God. Through the little that we give may you bless it to have a kingdom impact both here in our local community and in our church around the world. Thank you that we are a part a wonderful world wide movement and are able to resource your work around the world right where we live in this way. Amen

Pacific Adventist University 8 June Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is a premier Christian institution of higher learning and research in the Pacific. The Koiari Park Campus is located in a peaceful rural setting, 14 miles outside of Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea The PAU campus, part of a 48-hectare estate, is set in a beautiful environment with water-lily lakes, a wealth of bird life, well maintained lawns and shrubs and well-chosen shade trees, making it a peaceful place not only for its residents, but also for many local and international visitors. The impact of PAU is significant to the church throughout the South Pacific as it trains, equips and empowers young men and women to be pastors, teachers, nurses, business leaders and other vital positions of leadership to serve throughout the pacific. Your offering today will assist PAU to continue this vital work of our church in the Pacific, through your generosity will not only empower the church in the Pacific today but will also have a lasting legacy into the future as we continue to share the Hope we have in Jesus and his soon return. Lord as we give today may our offering continue to bless and assist PAU to train, equip and empower the nurturing of pastors, teachers, nurses and other important leaders og the pacific not only today but into the future. Amen

15 June Local Church Budget How can I help you? What if every church in South Queensland asked this question to both those within our church and to those in our surrounding community what difference would it make? Essentially this is what Jesus did as he ministered while on this early seeking and saving the lost and asking How can I help You? From the woman at the well to the Rich Young Ruler, the paralytic to the woman caught in adultery, time after time Jesus was present in the community ready and willing to serve and share His love. So where are we as a church? What is our priority? Are we shaping for mission and being Jesus hands and feet in our community? Are we present the lives of our friends, family and neighbours lives? Today s offering goes to support the mission of our church right where we are. Your offerings will assist our church to cover its ongoing expenses and continue our ministry into our community. Thank you for your generosity in supporting our church. May we give generously to support the mission of our church in our community and may we be the church that has a transformational impact on our friends, family and neighbours as seek to shape for mission and impact our community with His love. Dear God. We give today knowing that our offering supports your church to be in our community and as we shape for mission may we be compelled to love our local community like never before and may they see you through not just our words but also our actions. Amen.

29 Local Church Budget June Matthew 24:14: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. As we shape for mission in 2019 how will you fulfil the words of Matthew 24:14 by not only giving of your tithes and offerings but your time and talents? Church we are here on this planet and live right here in our community to preach the gospel of the Kingdom, we are to be the living gospel to our friends, family, neighbours and those we do life with. It is only through being a part of your local church that the greatest impact for His kingdom will ever be accomplished, In fact it only ever has been through the local church! We must rise up and be a loving community of Christians that through our actions, our life and our testimony of how Jesus Christ has transformed us that our friends, family, neighbours and where we live will experience the love of Jesus through us and ask how they can get to know the same Jesus we do. When we return tithe and give our generous offerings and gifts, we do so in acknowledgment of God s ownership of all things while allowing ourselves to know that the Lord is able to further build His kingdom through our resources. As you generously give your offering, your treasure this Sabbath know that all you give will support the work you and your church is doing right where you are in building up the kingdom and preaching the gospel to your community. Let us be your hands and feet that those we come in contact with each day. Thank You, Lord, for entrusting us with your resources. Help us to be faithful in using them for your glory and for sharing the gospel of your kingdom right here where we live. Amen.
