Charity for Edmonton Food Bank Assalamu Alaikum Parents: I am proud to inform you that Grade 4C, on behalf of the Edmonton Islamic Academy, will be organizing this year s food drive for the Edmonton Food Bank. The Edmonton Food Bank is an organization that provides nearly 500, 000 meals roughly to people in need as well providing services and solutions for the causes of hunger. This food drive will greatly benefit our students as we will be practicing the importance of Sadaqah(charity) and giving back to our local community. Students will have the opportunity to fulfil the Academy s mission and vision to become leaders and contributors to society. Respected parents, you and your families are invited to participate in this food drive and contribute to this beneficial cause. We will be accepting food donations from Tuesday November 20th until Monday Dec 17th 2018 in the bins located outside the main office, secondary office and in the atrium. Items may include: canned beans, canned fish, baby formula, peanut butter, healthy school snacks (100% real juice boxes, granola bars and fruit cups), soup, canned fruit/vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce.
