It was born out of the Consultation for Wholistic Mission and Poverty at CLADE IV, 2000 (Latin American Congress on Evangelization)

A group of pastors and leaders was nominated by participants of the consultation at CLADE IV to dream about the formation of a continental network for the promotion of wholistic mission. They later met in Bogota, Columbia in 2001

At this meeting, the group developed a continental strategy for the formation of a network of churches and ministries commited to wholistic mission. It was at this meeting that the Red Del Camino was born.

VISION Local churches that manifest the Kingdom of God and His justice, as they serve and promote wholistic transformation in their communities.

MISSION Serve and assist churches, ministries and leaders with the formation of national networks that promote the life and practice of the wholistic mission.

OUR VALUES Our Values: Koinonia is one of the fundamental characteristics that distinguishes the church as a community of the Kingdom of God (Acts 2:42). The presence of the Spirit manifests itself in the sharing of lives, resources, talents, Christian friendship, time and resources in a loving and united Christian community. Without this mutual sharing of ourselves and what we have in a context of equality and respect we cannot operate as a meaningful and impactful network. In the Red del Camino the first thing we say that we must share with one another is friendship.

OUR VALUES Wholism: The mission of the church is multifaceted and includes many diverse elements. As a network we sincerely seek to reach the total person, and therefore, we approach every element of the mission from a wholistic perspective. This means to say that we see the mission as one that integrates evangelism, discipleship, worship, service, and a prophetic role into the identity and activities of the local church.

OUR VALUES Integrity: As a network we believe that the moral authority that gives us the credibility to communicate and live out the wholistic mission is dependent upon the personal integrity and transparency that we exhibit in our ministries. We value, therefore, that each member maintain purity in both their personal life and relationships, a personal commitment to the wholistic mission in their personal life as well as in their involvement with the local church, and doctrinal purity (in accordance with the word of God and the gospel).

OUR VALUES Multiplication: We see ourselves as part of a movement that encourages the extension and growth of the kingdom of God. We desire to be a channel of blessing for churches in Latin America. Therefore, not only are we committed to practicing wholistic mission, but we are also occupied with the task of spreading and training others about wholism. Each member of the Network is committed to sharing the vision with others as they work and serve wholistically in their communities.

VALUES OUR Dependence on God: The Red is a spiritual movement. Therefore, we depend totally on God in our mission and in all that we do. We submit ourselves to the word of God as an authoritative guide, and all that we do is permeated with prayer and dependency on the Holy Spirit. We are a faith movement that believes that our mission does not depend on our limited resources, instead on the will of God and his omnipotence.

VALUES OUR Mission: In the Red we believe that our mission is to support the local church. When we read and understand the Bible we see that we are called to a relationship with God, and then we are sent into the world as missionaries. We understand the church to be the ministerial body that exists to bring about wholistic transformation in all areas of life and to serve as a testimony of the kingdom of God on Earth. The church should not attempt to escape the troubles of this world and wait for heaven, but rather it should penetrate the world and all of its corruption to seek to preserve life and bring hope to the hopeless, help to those in need, and community where there is division and brokeness.
