KINGDOMTIED August 29 November 28 (The pulpit attire is Green) We are in the season of KINGDOMTIDE, the color of KINGDOMTIDE is GREEN. The color GREEN symbolizes growth. Its emphasis on the kingship of Christ and His kingdom, challenges us in our daily lives and in every area of our existence. MOBC November is Adoption Month But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father! Galatians 4:4 6 (NKJV) EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY SPEAKING THE TRUTH.DISPELLING ADOPTION MYTHS MYTHS VS TRUTH All children in foster care are bad seeds. Each child is different and in care for different reasons. Only Cliff and Claire Huxtable can adopt. There s too much red tape to go through. It cost too much to Adopt. There are no African American families out there to adopt waiting children. I m single. I cannot adopt. When the child grows up, he/she will want to return to their birth parents. You can t mold a child who is over five years old. His/her values are already set. What is Adoption? Adoption is a social and legal process that establishes the relationship of parent and child between people who do not have this relationship by birth. It provides adoptive parents the same rights and obligations that exist between children and birth parents. The social process is often more complex than the legal process. Who can Adopt? You can become an adoptive parent even if: You are single You are divorced You are a working mother You have a modest income You have other children You live in an apartment You are over 40 years old You have a disability All types of families can adopt. The Adoption process is complex; but it s worth it, and we re here to assist you through it. There is a minimal if any costs for the adoption of many African American children and for most of the children for whom we work. African American families are out there. It s our job to educate; reach out; to recruit. Single parent families are a great resource for many waiting children. Many of our families are single families. Many children will want to find out who their birth parents are or where they come from but most often it s a desire to know heritage or to make a connection not a desire to return. We will help you understand that phenomenon and work through it. Human beings have the capacity to learn, grow, and change throughout their lifetime. Jacob Age 10 Jacob is a very young man with a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. He is the 4 th of 6 siblings born to the same parents. Jacob has an interest in football, video games the computer. He aspires to write a book and have it published. He enjoys spending time outside playing with his friends. The young man requires parents that will devote a significant amount of attention to his school. Jacob has a fun loving personality and enjoys playing with children his age.
MOBC HOW TO ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR HEART Perhaps while reading the announcements you realized you have never made a Christian commitment. Don t delay that decision! We encourage you to embrace God s love today and receive the salvation that only Jesus Christ gives. Here are five simple steps you can take to find assurance of salvation. 1. Recognize your need. The Bible tell us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23) All of us are sinners, and we must admit our need for a Savior. 2. Repent of your sins. Our sins create a wall that separates us from God. By confessing our sins and turning from them, you will find forgiveness. The Bible promises: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). 3. Believe in Jesus. God sent His only Son to die so that He could pay for all our sins. Put your faith in Him and believe in His power to save you. The Bible says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). 4. Receive His salvation. God has given us a great gift in His Son, but we must receive His gift. Thank Him for loving and forgiving you, and ask Him to live in your heart. His promise to us is clear: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). 5. Confess your faith. The Bible assures us: If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom. 10:9). You have been born again and are now part of God s family. Tell someone else what Jesus has done in your life!
