On Mondays, 5 persons meet each week at Fairfield Baptist Church for Systematic Theology I. On Tuesdays, 9 persons meet each week at Fairfield Baptist Church for Bible Interpretation I. On Thursdays, 20 persons meet each week at High Praise Christian Center for Old Testament Survey. On 1 st Saturdays, 35 persons meet at Norman Grove Baptist Church for Systematic Theology I and II. On 2 nd and 4 th Saturdays, 9 persons meet at Big Miller Grove Baptist for Bible Interpretation II. We praise God for the doors He is opening. We are appreciative for the pastors who have a heart for their people and for their recognition of the great value of theological education. We thank God for a growing number of students who are humble before God and are hungry for knowledge and ministerial training. 1
AWARDING OF CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION On Sunday, May 23, the MWE School of Ministry took great pleasure in awarding Certificates of Ministry to the first two persons to complete the Developmental Track. The Developmental Track is derived from the core curriculum classes required by many Bible Colleges. It consists of courses in Bible Survey, Systematic Theology, Hermeneutics, Homiletics, Teaching Principles and Biblical Leadership. The Track is designed for persons who are not seeking a college degree but desire the same quality education as those who are. The Developmental Track subjects the serious student of the Bible or candidate for the ministry to 288 hours of instruction. This regiment renders each person capable of serving in the church with the same effectiveness as Bible college and seminary graduates and this is achieved at a fraction of the tuition cost of the Bible college and seminary environment. Below are the honorees. The MWE School of Ministry has truly been an enlightening experience for me. I have been greatly helped with Bible interpretation. Now I can study a passage of Scripture, get the correct meaning and keep the text in its proper context. My ability for sermon development and preaching sermons in a clear and understandable fashion have been greatly enhanced. Dr. Woods and his staff are excellent instructors. If you wish to excel in Bible study, Bible teaching, sermon preparation and sermon presentation, I advise you to take the classes that are offered by the MWE School of Ministry. DR. WOODS AT GREEN ACRES BAPTIST CHURCH On Sunday, May 30, Dr. Woods was the guest preacher during the Morning Worship Services of Green Acres Baptist Church in Warner Robbins, GA. Green Acres is a Southern Baptist Church and is under the capable leadership of Dr. Johnny Ellison. Dr. Ellison is a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary, located in Lithonia, GA and is a student and practicioner of expository preaching. His messages can be heard at the church website. They meet every Sunday at 9:15 am for Sunday School, at 10:30 am for Morning Worship Services, at 6:00 pm for Sunday Evening Worship and at 6:15 pm on Wednesdays for Bible Study Classes. PREACHING WORKSHOP AT GREATER PINEY GROVE On June 1-3, Dr. Woods conducted an Expository Preaching Workshop at Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. For the past 20 years, Greater Piney Grove has been under the leadership of Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr. Dr. Flippin is a great preacher in his own right and has a great passion for developing ministers so that each can serve in the ministry with excellence. Each night the Workshop drew and audience of 50 to 75 preachers, teachers and lay-persons who were interested in becoming better able at reading, interpreting, teaching and preaching the Word of God. HOLY LAND TRIP 2011 On Monday, February 7, 2011, Dr. Woods will travel to the land of Israel with another group of ministers on a life-changing tour of the Holy Land. This pilgrimage will be educational and transformative. It will also include a worship service in Jerusalem on the 2 nd Sunday of February and will end with an arrival back home on Monday, February 14. Some ministers will be accompanied by their spouses, as they trace the footsteps of Elijah, Peter, and others of the Bible and they will especially walk the same paths and roads Jesus walked.
