Present Day Idls: Sabbath Day Wrship Authr: Pierre Dungee www.getyuranswersnline.cm

Observing the Sabbath Day? If s, yu are in ERROR In this article, we will take a lk at smething that we are seeing mre and mre f. Many s-called 'Christians' are ging back under the law and are bserving Sabbath days, and we are ging t explre this and why this is happening. Thse f us wh are Disciples f Christ already knw that the Lrd Jesus Christ is the Lrd f the Sabbath, as He declared Himself in the 4 gspels. Well, if Jesus is the Lrd f the Sabbath, what are these scalled 'Christians' ding? In ur research, we are seeing that there are influences frm ther mvements that are starting t sway the thinking f thse wh say that they are fllwers f Christ. We will lk at that phenmenn as well as well as why this is dangerus fr the bdy f Christ. This is a dispassinate lk at what peple are ding, as there seems t be cnfusin all arund. S, befre we get started, we will lk at what the Old Testament says that the Sabbath is and why it was given t man, and then we will see the change that the Sabbath has in the New Testament and what that significance was. 2

What is the Sabbath and why is it imprtant? The Sabbath is a perid f rest that was given man by the Lrd Himself. Yu can see this in the fllwing scripture: Exdus 16:23-29 -And he said unt them, This is that which the LORD hath said, T mrrw is the rest f the hly sabbath unt the LORD: bake that which ye will bake t day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth ver lay up fr yu t be kept until the mrning. And they laid it up till the mrning, as Mses bade: and it did nt stink, neither was there any wrm therein. And Mses said, Eat that t day; fr t day is a sabbath unt the LORD: t day ye shall nt find it in the field. Six days ye shall gather it; but n the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be nne. And it came t pass, that there went ut sme f the peple n the seventh day fr t gather, and they fund nne. And the LORD said unt Mses, Hw lng refuse ye t keep my cmmandments and my laws? See, fr that the LORD hath given yu thesabbath, therefre he giveth yu n the sixth day the bread f tw days; abide ye every man in his place, let n man g ut f his place n the seventh day. Exdus 20:8 -Remember the sabbath day, t keep it hly. 3

Exdus 20:10-11 - But the seventh day is the sabbath f the LORD thy Gd: in it thu shalt nt d any wrk, thu, nr thy sn, nr thy daughter, thy manservant, nr thy maidservant, nr thy cattle, nr thy stranger that is within thy gates: Fr in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefre the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallwed it. Exdus 31:14-16 -Ye shall keep the sabbath therefre; fr it is hly unt yu: every ne that defileth it shall surely be put t death: fr whsever deth any wrk therein, that sul shall be cut ff frm amng his peple. Six days may wrk be dne;but in the seventh is the sabbath f rest, hly t the LORD: whsever deth any wrk in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put t death. Wherefre the children f Israel shall keep the sabbath, t bserve the sabbath thrughut their generatins, fr a perpetual cvenant. 'Sabbath' ccurs 137 times in 116 verses in the Bible. This was a time fr men t rest, and the Lrd declared this time as HOLY, and had insisted that man keep the Sabbath day as it is a HOLY Day unt Him. OK, fair enugh. Many peple have dne just that ver the years, and that was a part f the Old Testament, the OLD cvenant that the Lrd had with mankind. Let's take a lk at that fr a mment. Let's define what a testament is, s yu can understand what a testament is: nun a will, especially ne that relates t the dispsitin f ne's persnal prperty. either f the tw majr prtins f the Bible: the Msaic r ld cvenant r dispensatin, r the Christian r new cvenant r dispensatin. the New Testament, as distinct frm the Old Testament. a cpy f the New Testament. a cvenant, especially between Gd and humans. S we will knw what a cvenant is, A cvenant is defined as: an agreement, usually frmal, between tw r mre persns t d r nt d smething specified. Law. an incidental clause in such an agreement. Ecclesiastical. a slemn agreement between the members f a church t act tgether in harmny with the precepts f the gspel. the cnditinal prmises made t humanity by Gd, as revealed in Scripture. a frmal agreement f legal validity, especially ne under seal. t enter int a cvenant. t prmise by cvenant; pledge. t stipulate. 4

Here is hw the Lrd f Hsts handles a cvenant: A cvenant is a slemn prmise between the Lrd f Hsts and a persn, prvided that a persn fulfills cnditins f the agreement between them and the Lrd f Hsts. SO, let's agree that a testament, als knwn as a cvenant, is an agreement that the Lrd f Hsts had with mankind. Nw, as yu already knw, we are nt under the Old Testament any lnger, but we d have this recrded s that we can learn frm it, see Gd's wisdm in it, and understand what the Lrd was ding with the Israelites. Under this cvenant, r agreement, the Lrd wanted men t REST ne day f the 7-day week. Yu have t understand that the Lrd had t make rules f gvernance fr the Israelites, and we can see that the Israelites did nt bey what the Lrd set ut fr them. In fact, the Lrd had the Israelites enslaved TWICE because they wuld NOT listen t Him, nr did they trust Him. In speaking abut the Sabbath, under the new cvenant, we d NOT have t bserve a day as we did under the ld cvenant. We are t be IN Jesus, beying Him, and that is enugh. Jesus Himself declared that He is the LORD f the Sabbath. S what des that mean? That means that if yu are beying the Lrd f the Sabbath, yu are satisfying the Sabbath. What this means t mst is that the rest f the Sabbath is nw IN the Lrd Jesus Christ. As lng as yu are a disciple and bey the Lrd Jesus Christ, yu are t REST in HIM. Didn't the Lrd Jesus tell yu that If yu are in Him, He will give yu rest? See scripture: Matthew 11:27-11:30 - All things are delivered unt me f my Father: and n man knweth the Sn, but the Father; neither knweth any man the Father, save the Sn, and he t whmsever the Sn will reveal him. All things are delivered unt me f my Father: and n man knweth the Sn, but the Father; neither knweth any man the Father, save the Sn, and he t whmsever the Sn will reveal him. Take my yke upn yu, and learn f me; fr I am meek and lwly in heart: and ye shall find rest unt yur suls. Fr my yke is easy, and my burden is light. 5

This is in line with the cmmandments that Jesus gave all f us under the NEW Testament, the NEW cvenant that the Lrd has made with mankind. It is THROUGH His Sn, Jesus, that makes us righteus with HIM. This is why the Lrd Jesus Christ tld everyne that N ne sees the father except thrugh HIM! See scripture: Jhn 14:6 - Jesus saith unt him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: n man cmeth unt the Father, but by me. There is Cnfusin between the Old Cvenant and the New Cvenant right nw, we have a lt f peple wh are reading the Old Testament and d nt understand what has taken place. We have many sects f peple wh believe that if they just keep the law, they will make it int heaven. We have many peple ut there wh are cnflating the ld and new testaments when they are tw separate agreements that the Lrd f Hsts has had with mankind. Wh is perpetrating this cnfusin? I think yu knw the answer t that. S, what we will need t d is t LEARN frm the things that the Israelites did in the OLD Testament and t then apply thse lessns t what we are t d in the NEW Testament. D yu see us having t make animal sacrifices in the New Testament? DO yu see us needing t have a Levitical Priest in the New Testament? D yu see us having t fllw 613 laws in the New Testament? The Lrd f Hsts made all f this available t the New Testament believer THROUGH His Sn, Jesus. SO let's answer the questins psed abve. Q. D yu see us having t make animal sacrifices? A. N, Only ONE sacrifice was made fr ALL, and that sacrifice was made by the Lrd Jesus Christ when He died n the crss. Rmans 3:24-26 - Being justified freely by his grace thrugh the redemptin that is in Christ Jesus: Whm Gd hath set frth t be a prpitiatin thrugh faith in his bld, t declare his righteusness fr the remissin f sins that are past, thrugh the frbearance f Gd; T declare, I say, at this time his righteusness: that he might be just, and the justifier f him which believeth in Jesus. 6

Q. D yu see us needing t have a Levitical Priest? A. N, ur High priest is the Lrd Jesus Christ, as He is in the rder f Melchizedek. The Levitical Priests have been dne away with and d nt exist anymre after the 2nd scattering f the Israelites. Hebrews 5:8-10 - Thugh he were a Sn, yet learned he bedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the authr f eternal salvatin unt all them that bey him; Called f Gd an high priest after the rder f Melchisedec. Q. D yu see us fllwing 613 laws? A. N, as the laws are built int the new NATURE f the persn wh believes in Christ and fllws Him. It is thrugh being brn again that the new NATURE is instilled in the believer s he will nt want t break the 613 laws, as this is nt his nature anymre. This new nature makes the brn again persn able t recnnect with the Lrd f Hsts THROUGH His sn, s the need t fllw laws is nt needed. 2 Crinthians 3:3 - Frasmuch as ye are manifestly declared t be the epistle f Christ ministered by us, written nt with ink, but with the Spirit f the living Gd; nt in tables f stne, but in fleshy tables f the heart. Can yu nw see why the New Testament is s imprtant? S hw is bserving the Sabbath Day idlatry?, yu may ask. T answer this questin, we will cmpare that the Sabbath f the Old Testament, which is under the Law, with the Lrd f the Sabbath in the New Testament, wh is the Lrd Jesus Christ. This means that every day yu are IN Jesus, yu are bserving the Sabbath, as yu have REST is Jesus. The errr that we see is peple deifying the Sabbath Day, making it an idl, as they are wrshipping the DAY, be it either Saturday r Sunday. They think that if they d NOT keep the Sabbath Day, as determined by sme denminatins t be either Saturday r Sunday, peple are in sin against Gd. N. Jesus is the Lrd f the Sabbath; we get ur rest IN Him. As lng as we are fllwing Jesus as He has asked us t, we have cmpleted the Sabbath. It really is that simple, but denminatin and religin will make this difficult t understand. 7

Well, they say, the Bible says that we are t keep the Sabbath day. That is true, the Bible DOES say that. Hwever, under what Testament des it say that? The prblem is that many f the Sabbath Day believers are making the Sabbath Day an IDOL by ging back t the Old Testament t try and fllw the law, and by ding s, they are spitting in the Face f the Lrd Jesus Christ and the wrk He did n the crss. By being butchered and dying n that crss, we are FREE frm the law, as Jesus has fulfilled it. Desn t the Bible tell us this? Rmans 8:4 - That the righteusness f the law might be fulfilled in us, wh walk nt after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Galatians 5:14 - Fr all the law is fulfilled in ne wrd, even in this; Thu shalt lve thy neighbur as thyself. S what des that mean? That means that we DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THE LAW IF WE ARE IN CHRIST JESUS. Under the Old Testament, the law was there t highlight sin and t prvide a means fr the peple t get atnement fr their sins. This is why there are s many laws that yu needed t fllw. The Lrd f Hsts made prvisins fr His peple t fllw the law(s) s they can live in rder and in peace. Of curse, as yu knw already, the Israelites wuld regularly break and transgress the law by cnstructing idls and visiting the grves and temple prstitutes. All f the sacrifices that were made wuld be accepted r rejected by the Lrd f Hsts as He saw fit. The New Testament is a new cvenant and a change frm the laws f the Old Testament. In the bible, when asked the questin why we needed a New Testament, we are tld that the Law was a 'schlmaster' fr the New Testament where the Lrd Jesus Christ is the FINAL sacrifice that needed t be made fr the atnement f sin. S, what is a 'schlmaster'? Mst peple wuld think that a schlmaster is a headmaster, like the guy wh runs a schl. The headmaster is akin t a Principal in ur current schls, and all f these definitins wuld NOT fit what the Bible is talking abut. S, let's find ut what this is all abut. In this vide clip, which yu can find here, starting at the 12:50 mark, the teacher in the vide explains what a schlmaster really is. Since the teacher in the vide says t ggle it, we did, and here is the definitin frm the Bible Dictinary, which yu can find here: https://www.biblestudytls.cm/dictinary/schlmaster/ 8

SCHOOLMASTER (prnunced skl'-mas-ter) : Galatians 3:24 - The law was ur schlmaster t bring us unt Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is cme, we are n lnger under a schlmaster. "Schlmaster" is a translatin f paidaggs, literally, "child-leader." This paidagags was nt a teacher but a slave, t whm in wealthy families the general versight f a by was cmmitted. It was his duty t accmpany his charge t and frm schl, never t lse sight f him in public, t prevent assciatin with bjectinable cmpanins, t inculcate mral lessns at every pprtunity, etc. He was a familiar figure in the streets, and the (sur) "face f paidaggs" and "t fllw ne like a paidaggs" were prverbial expressins. Naturally, t the average by the paidaggs must have represented the incrpratin f everything bjectinable. Hence, Paul's figure may be paraphrased: "The law was a paidaggs, necessary but irksme, t direct us until the time f Christ. Then was the time f ur spiritual cming-f-age, s that the cntrl f the paidaggs ceased." The wrd paidaggs was taken ver int Aramaic at an early date, and Paul's language; which is hardly that f a mere adult bserver, suggests that he had had persnal experience with the institutin. Wealthy and intensely rthdx Jewish parents living in a Gentile city may well have adpted such a precautin fr the prtectin f their children. It is nt what yu thught it was, was it? Many peple hear that term and they d nt knw what that means really. Nw that yu knw, yu can see that the Law was a means t highlight sin until the sacrifice f the Lrd Jesus Christ was made s we can walk by faith and nt by the law. We especially liked the way that the teacher n the vide explained this (and this is why we psted this vide). If yu have sme time, this vide is a part f a channel called Berean TV which yu can peruse n yur wn time. This bible teacher des a very gd jb explaining a lt f things in the bible s g and get edified. T reiterate, a schlmaster was a persn wh tk the children t the schl making sure they were safe. In effect, he LED THE CHILDREN t the schl, and the Law was there t LEAD PEOPLE t JESUS s they culd have ne 9

FINAL sacrifice t cver their sins, which wuld change the persn s NATURE s they culd cmmunicate with the Lrd f Hsts THROUGH the Lrd Jesus Christ. By discarding the New Cvenant and trying t fllw the Old Cvenant, the thse wh try and fllw a Sabbath DAY dishnur the wrk n the crss that the Lrd Jesus Christ did as the sacrifice fr all. What the Sabbath Day wrshippers are basically saying is that they d NOT recgnize r hnur the wrk dne n the crss by the Lrd Jesus Christ. They are saying that they will fllw the Law t be able t talk with and fellwship with the Lrd f Hsts (whm they call 'Yah') by fllwing His law. They fail t understand that if they d ne part f the law, then they have t d ALL f the Law, and if they miss ding ANY part f the Law, they CANNOT be redeemed r Saved. Under the New Testament, Jesus did all f the heavy lifting s mankind des nt have t. Can t yu see that with Jesus, He cnslidated 613 Laws int tw laws that can be easily handled IN Christ? Why is it that peple are making things harder fr themselves when they d nt have t? All f this is happening because f a religius spirit that has engulfed the churches that they supprt r attend that is causing many t stumble. Didn t Jesus tell us that this yke is easy? We can find that in scripture here: Matthew 11:28-30 - Cme unt me, all ye that labur and are heavy laden, and I will give yu rest. Take my yke upn yu, and learn f me; fr I am meek and lwly in heart: and ye shall find rest unt yur suls. Fr my yke is easy, and my burden is light. This cncept is NOT rcket science, Christian, s if yu are nt sure, yu may ALWAYS ask Jesus t explain things t yu. Yu may ask Jesus r yu may ask the Hly Ghst t explain t yu why yu d NOT need t celebrate a Sabbath Day if the explanatins in this bk are nt satisfactry. We d nt care HOW yu learn as lng as yu get the cncepts and cntinue with yur walk with Jesus via the Hly Ghst s yu can enter int the Kingdm f Gd. This is ur nly mtivatin. 10

As always, take NOTHING that yu have seen here in this bk as the truth. It is YOUR respnsibility t study and check ut everything that yu see and hear, and yu have an advcate in the Lrd Jesus Christ wh will help yu if yu wuld just ask Him. Take this upn yurself, Christian, as YOU need t get YOUR Bible, YOUR cncrdance, YOUR dictinary, YOUR pens/pencils, YOUR ntepad and then YOU need t seek ut the Lrd Jesus Christ and ask Him t help YOU s YOU can make it int His Kingdm, since it will be YOU standing alne in frnt f Jesus when YOU are being judged. It is YOUR respnsibility t make sure YOU are in the faith and that YOU have cmpleted YOUR sanctificatin during the sanctificatin prcess and YOU have gtten YOUR frgiveness and YOU have repented f all f YOUR sins befre YOU are judged by Jesus. Scripture tells us that hell will enlargen itself t accmmdate all f the peple wh will be sent there because f idls like the ppe, as yu can see in scripture here: Isaiah 5:14 - Therefre hell hath enlarged herself, and pened her muth withut measure: and their glry, and their multitude, and their pmp, and he that rejiceth, shall descend int it. Take this as a warning, Christian, as the Lrd Jesus Christ is NOT desperate fr peple, as there were nly 8 peple wh gt n the ark befre the fld, and nly 2 peple frm the Hebrews frm Egypt made it int the Prmised Land. Be wise, and stay IN Jesus s yu are nt lst. 11

Here is Our Challenge t yu, Christian We challenge yu t g t Jesus directly RIGHT NOW and ask Him if what is shwn here is true. Use this as a means t start a cnversatin with The Lrd Jesus Christ and sit with Him and ask Him questins. Start with (asking ut lud): Jesus, is what I just read true? He will answer yu and NOW yu will be n the true rad t salvatin, knwing fr SURE if yu are ging t make it r nt, as Jesus wuld have tld yu. Keep talking with Him. Get t knw Him and He will start t reveal Himself t yu. Yu need t find ut fr yurself and wrk ut YOUR salvatin fr YOU, as the scriptures tell us t. 12
