With the luck of a Unicorn our membership will soar to the sky Greetings my Beautiful Butterflies, MARCH 2019 State Madam President Linda Day Wow! Another month has passed us by, I sure wish spring would get here I am so wanting to enjoy the outside. We were invited to attend the Goat Race in Lapeer what a Great time was had by all, and I was set for a challenge to see whose goat would finish first, the State Auxiliary Officers Goat or the State Aerie Officers Goat and I am happy to announce that the State Auxiliary Officers goat won. Then we were off to Motor city for the 69 th Anniversary and Initiation of new sisters, what a beautiful unicorn display I received from the sister in Motor City, I was give the Honor of presenting our Past State Madam President Linda Dockery (Grandma) her 35 year pin. Yep you guessed it we were off again this time to Traverse City for the State President cash bash fundraiser, what a great bunch of People with their support. I even came home with my own cool table sign. Even though I was questioned if I knew where it went, but you can t leave a gift behind. Then we were on our way again to Durand for their 40 th Anniversary want a beautiful time and the decorations were beautiful, there were 6 of the Charter members present and I was asked to present them with their 40 year Pin. Thank you to all the Aerie and Auxiliary for your generous donations, hospitality and your friendship. In a week I will have the pleasure of guiding our Grand Madam President Althea Lane around or great state, I hope you will find time at one of our location to stop in and say hi, we have a nice tour set up for her, I am sure she would like to meet each and every one of you. Sisters sign up those new members and bring those old ones back. Fraternally yours State Madam President Linda Day Again I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication to the Alzheimer's Dementia charity. Remember With the luck of the Unicorn our membership will soar to the sky. Like Butterflies Fluttering their wing for the F.O.E. we ll help find a cure for Dementia & Alzheimer s for all those in need

Auxiliary Secretaries, Ladies, we have in our State Auxiliary By-laws that if we have to send out a State Officer to help you get in Compliance the cost for each Auxiliary will be $25.00 with the check made out to Michigan State Auxiliary. We have a long list of Auxiliaries that are not in Compliance. I have enclosed the Nasty List. Ladies please get these items completed. If your 990 is done call the Grand Aerie so they can update your files at (614) 883-2200 ask for Joan. You can also send me a copy of your 990 and I will forward it to the Grand Aerie. If your Aerie doesn t get you Bonded then your Auxiliary must get your own Bonding. Your Auxiliaries have been notified on the Per Capita Tax that will be for the Grand Aerie. Remember they will have all Per Capita Taxes due on June 1 st. The State Auxiliary will be changing our State By-laws to have the State Per Capita Taxes due on June 1 st as the Grand Aerie is doing. Let s work together and make Mighty Michigan shine with all the Auxiliaries being in compliance this year. You can go on the MMS to see if your Auxiliary is in compliance. Follow these instructions: MMS go to reports, look up Compliance Data Sheet, this report will give you the information you need to get your Auxiliary back in compliance. Call me if you have any questions. I have sent out the 2019 State Convention Packet and I have to hold back your packet if you re Auxiliary is not in compliance. When you get the Convention Packet you need to read everything in this Packet. We have a lot of changes for this upcoming State Convention. Remember the Auxiliary will be having all the events at the Weber Hotel. I know we had a problem with the Wyndham fax # I am sorry for that but if you didn t mark Weber Hotel I don t know where they will put you. The phone # for the Weber is 734-769- 2500 and the fax # for the Weber is 734-769-4743. Call and find out where they have you staying in advance so you don t have any problems when you come to Convention. You can call me if you have any questions. The Grand Madam President and State Madam President can t visit your Auxiliary if you re not in compliance. I sent a letter out for the Grand Madam Presidents Purse. I haven t received anything from the Auxiliaries. The visit for the Grand Madam Presidents has been moved up to the following dates 19 th to 23 rd. The deadline is 15 th. If you would like to invite our State Madam President, Linda Day to your Auxiliary Event, please send a letter to this office. FROM YOUR MEMBERSHIP CHAIR Was trying to come up with something witty for this month s article based on Linda s theme this year (the Unicorn) and found some mythological facts that I thought I d share. Historically, unicorns were known for their purity, nobility, strength, and connection with good. The legendary unicorn has qualities such as: Divining Truth it is thought to hold the power to divine truth and will pierce the heart of a liar with its horn. YUCK!! Even small lies???? Supreme Strength it can easily kill and elephant, a testament to its immense power and strength. OK that s good wouldn t want to upset one though!! Purity It is believed that the unicorn is attracted to purity and innocence, And wondered if Michigan State Madam President knew this one: You can acquire a Unicorn Hunting License from Lake Superior College in Sault Ste. Marie MICHIGAN. Hunting areas include, earth, moon (unexplored areas only) Milky Way (SE Rim is closed odd years) and all else. And finally but most important Unicorns are earthbound and do not have wings. If a unicorn and Pegasus (a flying horse) mate, the babies may become flying unicorns. FINALLY understand Linda s mascot wings cuz mamma unicorn and papa Pegasus mated!!! And boy am I glad they did!! That s why we been able to soar to the sky. And Michigan Auxiliaries have SOARED so far this year. WE ARE AT 78% WITH 3 MONTHS TO GO!! The wings have worked. We have 27 Auxiliaries at 100% of quota; 2 at 200%; 1 at 313% and District 11 at 103%. Keep up the great work all and we will be ringing bells again this year at the convention for meeting Linda s goal. Kathie
