Corner Pastor s THOUGHTS OF THE PASTOR While September is the 9 th month of the calendar year, it is the new year for television viewers. If you are tired of watching re-runs of your favorite television shows or you are eagerly waiting the premiere of a new show, September is the month you look forward to. One of the shows that will be beginning its second season on television in September is a show called Scandal. It is about a woman named Olivia Pope who runs a crisis management firm that tries to protect the reputation of Washington DC s elite people making sure their secrets never become public knowledge. During the month of September, I will begin a new sermon series titled Scandal in the Old Testament. We will be looking at men and women in the scriptures who did not have the benefit of an Olivia Pope and her firm. The scandal of these men and women has been known not only to the masses of their day, but also generations from their day. Most of all, this scandal was known to God. We will see and hear of stories filled with deceit, murder, adultery, and much more. Unlike some of the scandals you might see on television, I will do my best to make sure these scandals are easy on the ears and minds of our children. Be sure to join us for Scandal in the Old Testament. If you have a friend that is quick to share a bit of gossip or who thinks the Bible is boring, invite them to come with you. They will not believe their ears. -- Pastor Randy Wall

Greetings, New Covenant family. I wanted to pass along what a great time we had at Carolina Cross Connection. The work was hard but the blessings were overflowing. We give all glory and praise to God for keeping us all safe and drawing us closer to Him. Once we returned, we had the 2nd Annual Youth JAM which was a wonderful success. Many young people came out for a night of great music, a wonderful message and then water fun with a dunking booth and a 150 foot water slide. Everyone had a great time and the best part is Jesus was preached. In the coming months, we have a lot of exciting events and fundraisers we are planning, so keep and eye and an ear out for more information. What I am most excited about is seeing God move in the lives of our Youth. We have had God speaking to us in so many ways and it is so awesome to see God directly answer some of the concerns and prayers of our Youth. We ask for continued prayers for all our Youth as they prepare again for school. And I want to personally thank everyone who helped with MSM, CCC and Youth Jam as well as Youth meetings while we were out of town. God Bless and Shine!!!! Thanks, Todd Safe Sanctuaries Training On Sunday, September 9th, at 10am, all adults in the congregation are encouraged to attend a brief Safe Sanctuaries training, to be held in the Sanctuary. This training is intended to educate all adults (whether or not they volunteer with children or youth) about the church's policies, and help all of us create the safest and most welcoming environment possible for minors and their families. Adult Sunday School classes will be cancelled during this event, and members of the Youth and Children's Council's will assist with children's Sunday School classes and nursery so all teachers and volunteers may attend. We encourage all adults to attend; if you volunteer with children or youth, this training is mandatory. Please contact Shannon Reavis, Todd Guest, or Amy Overbay if you have questions.
