THESIS ABSTRACT NAME TITLE MAJOR FIELD MOHAMMAD ALI NASSER KHAMIS PVT DATA QUALITY CONTROL PETROLEUM ENGINEERING DATA OF DEGREE JUNE 2008 Pressure-Volume-Temperature or PVT is used in so many calculations of oil industry. Good knowledge of the fluid s physical properties is required to assure that it represents the real world that it models. This research introduces the bases required to check the quality and consistency of the PVT data before using them in any calculations. Flash, differential, separator, viscosity, and composition tests are analyzed according to the criteria of this study. This study uses one hundred and seven PVT files and shows that most of the data used pass the various check items proposed in this research. xii
