Vancouver, Canada For the first time in two years as your Council Leader, I find myself with a lack of words. I realize many of you thought that was impossible, and a few of you are cheering. None-the-less, I will type on as this is my last leader letter, as we will be electing some new people to the Council Board at the December meeting. On Saturday, December 14 th, in Community Hospital s lower level conference room (from 11am- 1pm) we also will celebrate the 2013 holiday season with a catered luncheon! For those of you who have been good, Santa just might have a little something for you. For those who have been bad, well, there might be a little something for you too, but you are expected to stay and help clean-up. I do want to extend a big THANK YOU to all the current and former Council members who have assisted me in these last 2 years, and to all the members who help make this Friendship Force Club a friendly club to belong to. The November newsletter was phenomenal; I love the information on Russia in preparation for a 2014 incoming exchange from Moscow and I hope Alyse has much more info to share with us. The new member pictures and bio s are wonderful (thank you Sue), and WELCOME to all you new members! I heard the new member s get-together was a success and I hope we can keep that tradition. Verna Bunn has consistently provided us with an exceptional newsletter layout and I m happy to see the return of the Community Happenings page, as that has led me to a grand adventure or two. Which reminds me, is anybody interested in participating in a Murder Mystery Dinner for/with our club members in 2014? Thank you also goes out to Kathy Nielsen our events coordinator- for all her hard work in locating locations, finding food, designating dessert doers, and stepping up to fill any necessary need for this Friendship Force Club. Don t forget to thank her in person at the December meeting/luncheon. Thank Sue Moyer too, as treasurer she found us enough loot to pay for the party. And thank you Marguerite, Phil, and Linda for working behind the scenes. If I have left anyone out, feel free to remind me at the party. Just remember, I have access to Santa s naughty and nice list. Ho, Ho, Ho. Best Wishes for a well traveled and fun filled New Year, Cindy Beckage, your 2012 and 2013 WCFF Council Leader

. MOSCOW INBOUND MAY 27 to JUNE 3 2014 ED s - SUE MOYER CINDY BECKAGE We are still waiting to hear from Moscow's ED regarding additional activities they would like to do. Once we have that information, the planning committee will meet again to firm up our schedule. The Salt Lake City club has contacted us and we are coordinating with them to share information as we receive it. Please be thinking about what you would like to do to help as the time gets closer. We will be looking for home hosts, day hosts, drivers, small dinner party hosts, welcome and farewell party committee members, welcome bag and ambassador schedule helpers, along with many other types of assistance. Thanks,. OREGON OUTBOUND JULY 8 14 2014 No local ED required now This is an exchange that some of us may be invited to participate with. The Oregon club and the Baton Rouge Louisiana clubs are planning it. If the Baton Rouge folks do not fill the trip we may be able to join. Will keep you posted. CONNECTICUT OUTBOUND 3 rd WK of OCTOBER 2014 ED s SUE PALMER NANCY GALBRAITH Sue Palmer and Nancy Galbraith have volunteered to be CO-ED s for this exchange. The exchange is confirmed but the exact dates are still to be determined. We have asked them to give us a best guess on when the fall colors are at the peak so we can plan that time. Predicting the weather can be tricky and they are thinking about it. We have said the about 20 of us will go and they are good with that. Until the dates get confirmed and some of the side trips set up we will not know costs but it should be rather reasonable. Sue is working on a second week to New York or Boston.
