10-02-2016 PARISH LIFE Page 3 TODAY S READINGS First Reading Second Reading Gospel Reading Habakkuk 1:2-3; 2:2-4 2 Timothy 1:6-8, 13-14 Luke 17:5-10 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, A Message from Father Don Today s Gospel Reading describes faith, a gift from God, that is enough for us. We only need to recognize it and let it work in us. If we stop and look at this Gospel passage from Jesus point of view, we will see that Jesus wants to do so many good things for people. He wants to tell them the good news and what His Father wants. He wants the Father s loving will to be done on earth. Yet, so many times, when Jesus wants to move forward, He is held back by His disciples who lack a basic faith and trust in Him. They stand around quibbling about details, when Jesus would like to hear: We ve got the idea! Let s do it! This week spend some quite quiet time discerning what your attitude is toward the next good thing asked of you. Will you stand around and quibble about it or will you say, I ll get it! I ll do it! I m on it! Jesus asks that we love one another, not just stand around talking about loving one another! Say a prayer to our Lord and ask Him to increase your faith and trust in Him. Together as a family pray that your faith and trust will move you into action, not just talk. Building Fund plans are underway for our new Family Life Center. Lo unico que necesitamos es reconocerlo como tal y dejar que actúe en nostros. Si nos detenemos y vemos el mensaje del evangelio desde el punto de vista de Jesús, veremos que El quiere hacer tantas cosas buenas por la gente. El les quiere dar la buena nueva y decirles que es lo que el Padre quiere. Jesús quiere que la voluntad amorosa de Dios se haga en el mundo. Pero muchas veces cuando Jesús quiere hacer algo, es refrenado por la falta de fe y confianza de sus dicipulos. Ellos se detienen a discutir acerca de los detalles, cuando Jesús preferiría oir: Entendemos lo que nos quieres decir Señor! Vamos, hagamoslo! Esta semana dediquen un tiempo para meditar y dicernir cual sera su actitud la próxima vez que algo constructivo se pida de ustedes. Se van a detener a discutir o van a decir Sí, lo haré. Jesús nos pide que nos amemos los unos a los otros, pero nos pide que no solo hablemos si no que actuemos. Oren y pidan al Señor que aumente su fe y su confianza en El.
