N T R A C K E R S P R I N T S 2016 The newsletter is available on the website: www.gstrackers.org FMCA CHAPTER Volume 10, Issue 11 UPCOMING RALLIES Christmas Rally 4-8 December 2016 Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield Hosts: Apollo Amigos WMHA Rally 11 15 January 2017 Indio, CA No Host WE D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR IDEAS FOR A RALLY; CALL Bob & Debbie Golk 661-822-0920 2016 OFFICERS Greetings Fellow Trackers, Bill and I just returned home from the Trackers holiday rally at Orange Grove RV Park. And, as you can guess, the Pontolillo's threw a terrific rally but you'll have to wait until the December Newsletter to read their rally report. I do want to mention a couple things though about the weekend. First, Fred and Joanne's guests decided to join our chapter. Welcome Karen and Rino Toussaint to the Golden State Trackers. We hope to see you at many upcoming rallies. Second, I wanted to talk about our opportunity to give back this month. Many of us headed over to the Mission of Kern County in Bakersfield to Christmas wrap shoe boxes. The shoe boxes will be filled with toiletries and other gift items for the shelter residents and passed out for the holidays. The Trackers have done this in the past and it continues to be a fun and worthwhile activity. The Mission presented us with a generous lunch of ham sandwiches, macaroni salad, bags of chips and chocolate chip cookies. To show our appreciation to a homeless shelter providing US with food, we gave individual monetary contributions to the facility in addition to the rolls of wrapping paper, scotch tape, and clothing donations we provided. Thanks to the Trackers for participating in this activity. It's a great way to help this facility, especially during the holiday season, whose mission is to help individuals and families break the cycle of poverty and drugs and become productive citizens. President Nancy Carnes 661-718-2868 Vice President Debbie Golk 661-822-0920 Secretary Linda Weaver Treasurer Carol Pontolillo Nat l Director Nanette Caldwell Alt.Nat l. Director Tom Williams Rally Masters Bob & Debbie Golk Web Master - Marty Robertson Sunshine Pat Youngblood Newsletter Editor - Debbie Golk Membership- Diane & Marty Robertson Volunteer Coordinator Buck Youngblood Club Historians Dee Williams & Nanette Caldwell We were rather productive wrapping boxes until we ran out of paper and tape. This is Mike, the director of the Mission. I think he was thrilled with what we got finished.

PAGE 2 President s Message (con t) If you missed OUR holiday rally, there's still time to participate in the Apollo Amigos Christmas Rally, starting Sunday, December 4 th. Please see the rally registration info later in this newsletter. Since the Trackers are dark in December, I won't see you again until January. We have some changes for our February rally and I'll let rally hosts, Diane and Marty send out information on that. In the meantime, enjoy our cooler weather and early sunny mornings. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. Bill and I are headed to San Felipe for the holiday week. I'll let you know how the locals prepare turkey for their gringo visitors! Also, my birthday is on Thanksgiving this year, so I'll toast all my Tracker friends with EACH margarita I drink that day while giving thanks for knowing each and every one of you. Stay healthy and stay safe, Nancy Carnes F#379803 Chapter President Hi Folks, Vice President s Message We missed those of you who did not make our holiday rally at Orange Grove RV Park, hosted by Tom & Carol. We had fun and ate too much as usual. Tom and Carol did a great job thanks to both of you! We enjoyed our time at the Mission of Kern County in Bakersfield wrapping shoe boxes. You can read more about it in Nancy s president s message and see a few photos as well. If you re looking for some fun in December, come join us at Bakersfield RV Resort where we ll be joining the Apollo Amigos for their Christmas rally. Bob and I have been there in the past and had a great time. You can find the application in this newsletter. Welcome to our new members Rino and Karen Toussaint, guests of Fred and Joanne Wells. We re hoping to see them again soon. We are wishing all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope that you are able to spend it with family and friends. Take care and travel safe, Debbie Golk, F316752 Chapter Vice President Golden State Trackers 17 September 2016 Annual Meeting Minutes - Amended Nancy asked me to amend the meeting minutes as follows: This is how the original minutes read: Bob discussed saying Grace prior to meals. Judy feels that it should be each to his own and not a group thing. Nanette suggested we just have a quiet moment prior to meals. Diane said that we shouldn t even have a moment for prayer. Marty asked for a vote for a motion to table the discussion. Fred 2 nd d the motion. A vote was taken and it was unanimous. Tom thinks that we should make sure that we take a moment to thank the hosts and the cooks prior to sitting down to our meals.

PAGE 3 This is how the amended minutes are to read: Bob discussed saying Grace prior to meals. Judy feels that it should be each to his own and not a group thing. Nanette suggested we just have a quiet moment prior to meals. Knowing that others in the Club are not Christians and what the FMCA bylaws state about religion, Diane voiced her opinion against the motion knowing that it could make others uncomfortable. Marty then passed out copies of the FMCA bylaws Article III Membership #2 which states: Membership shall be open to any family unit or individual regardless of race, age, gender, national origin, religion, marital status or disability. He explained that it would be contrary to FMCA and to the club s bylaws that contain similar verbiage. There was some general discussion by the group at large without resolution. Marty then made a motion to table the discussion. Fred 2nd'd the motion. A vote was taken and it was unanimous to table the motion. Tom Williams thinks we should make sure that we take a moment to thank the hosts and the cooks prior to sitting down to our meals. It is with a very heavy heart that I would like to inform everyone of the passing of one of our newer members Ken Dalpiaz. He passed earlier this afternoon (Thursday, 10 Nov) with his family at his side. At this time there is no date/time set for his service but I will keep everyone informed. Please keep his wife Juanita and the rest of their family in your thoughts and prayers.
