Pastoral Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, Amen. Offering Offertory Prayer by Demorest *Doxology Hymn #625 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow *Prayer of dedication Scripture James 5: 13-18 13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. One of the ways we connect with Christ is through the sacrament of Communion. Often our homebound members aren t able to participate in Communion. In fact it s one of the things that they miss most about attending church regularly. Pastor Andrea is looking for people to serve on a Congregational Care Team that would help in visiting our homebound members with Communion each month. Please contact the office if you would like to serve in this way.
