We invite you to our Sanctuary on December 21 st at 6 PM to come and spend time with us. At this time of year, the atmosphere around us tends to be happy and upbeat. Yet the reality is, people are hurting, whether the loss be by choice and/or circumstance. Come spend time with our church family. UMC of AG Annual Hanging of the Greens Join us on November 29 th at 4 PM for an evening of Christmas fun. We will gather for a festive decorating party. We will have supper during this time and finish with a special service where we will light decorations and sing a carol or two. We hope to see you and your family there! Quiet Holy Communion Service - December 31st This will not be a formal service so feel free to come at anytime during the hour of 7-8 PM in the Sanctuary. You will find a self-directed guide for you to reflect on the past year and look forward to the New Year. There will also be an opportunity for you to take communion. The Giving Tree will be displayed in Criswell Hall beginning on November 29 th. This tree is decorated with ornaments that reflect the name and Christmas wish of a child in the Welfare system. This Is a great way to kick off the holiday season and the spirit of giving that comes along with it. Look to the Cast~A~Net for further details or contact Jan Treat and the Department of Social Services. Advent Supper and Study Join us on Wednesday, December 3 rd for a special Advent supper with soups, chili and cornbread supplied by the Green Umbrella. Prayers and Thanksgiving 23 November 2008 Praise God with thanksgiving! Pauline Castillo has a new great-grandchild. Welcome Kailani Rai!! Kay Walker s great-great grandchild had surgery with good results. Prayers for Gary and Rita Hughes, who both have health problems. Doris Kielan had a stroke and in AG Hospital (room 41A) prayers for comfort and a speedy recovery. Prayers for the family. Helen Setser passed away. Prayers for the family. Services in Tulare. Prayers for Wil Cawelti who went to French Hospital and is now home. Pray for the victims of the recent fires and for the fire fighters. Gary Hughes asks prayers for his family who was evacuated from the fires. Prayers for Isabella Sloan and family. Victoria Gandy s mother, Sarah Barber s grandmother, Valentina Ogden, passed away. Prayers for the families for comfort and peace. Prayers for Ken Leonard s grandmother who is in the hospital. Prayers for Dorothy Nova who is in AG Care Center. Our District Superintendent will have surgery November 24 th and will recovery for 6-8 weeks. Prayers for quick healing and rapid recovery. Due to budget restraints we are currently only funding our covenant missionary Judy Atwood in Kansas. Remember in prayer our missionaries who are serving God around the world; the leaders of our country; leaders and the people of North Korea, Africa and in the Middle East.
