Lesson for April 3, 1976 FORGIVING AND BEING FORGIVEN Scripture Reading: St. Matthew 18:23-35. Memory Verse: St. Mark 11:25. 1. What instruction concerning forgiving did the Saviour give to Peter when he asked how often it would necessary for him to forgive his brother? St. Matthew 18:21-22. 2. Will our Heavenly Father forgive those who are unforgiving? St. Mark 11:25-26; James 2:13. 3. On what basis did the Saviour say that we should ask forgiveness? St. Matthew 6:12. 4. What terrible judgment did Jesus say would be pronounced upon the servant who was forgiven but in turn refused to forgive his fellow servant? St. Matthew 18:32-34. 5. Scripture Reading: St. John 6:22-71. Memory Verse: St. John 6:54. Lesson for April 10, 1976 MY BODY IS MEAT INDEED, AND MY BLOOD IS DRINK INDEED 1. Where did Jesus go after feeding the five thousand? St. John 6:24-25. 2. Why were the multitude, seeking Jesus? St. John 6:26. 3. What did Jesus tell them about meat? From where did He say this meat could be obtained? St. John 6:27. 4. St. Luke 22:19, St. Matt. 26:26. Compare with St. John 6:51, 53. Note. While Jesus and His disciples were eating the Passover, Jesus took bread, blessed it and said, take eat this is my body. This unleavened bread represented His Body. The eating of the Passover lamb now was forever in the past. The Passover had become history. Jesus was introducing the Lord s Supper. 8. After partaking of the unleavened bread what did Jesus do? St. Luke 22:20; St. Matt. 26:27. 9. What did Jesus say that the drink which was in the cup represented? St. Mark 14:24; St. Matt. 26:28; St. Luke 22:20. Compare with St. John 6:53, 54. 10. What did the cup which Jesus gave His disciples contain? St. Mark 14:25; St. Matt. 26:29. Note. The gospels of St. Mark, St. Luke and St. Matt, tell us that the cup which Jesus blessed contained the fruit of the vine. This was the pure blood of the grapes, which represents the precious Blood of Jesus. Please see Deut. 32:14, last part. Note the contents of this cup was not fermented wine, nor water, but the blood of the grapes, fruit of the vine. 11. Is it scriptural to refer to the Lord's Supper as communion? 1 Cor. 10:16. Note. Paul in writing to the church of God at Corinth about the Lord's Supper which Jesus introduced while they were eating the Passover, just before His cruel trial refers to it as the Lord s Supper, or communion. 12. Was Judas present and did he partake of the Lord s Supper? St. Luke 22:21; St. John 13:18. 13. What must each soul do before partaking of The Lord s Supper? If we fail what will be the sad consequences? 1 Cor. 11:27-30. Lesson for April 17, 1976 WORSHIPPING GOD THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD Scripture Reading: Psalms 19. Memory Verse: 11 Timothy 3:15. 1. How may the true worshippers know that the Bible is truly inspired by God? II Samuel 23:1, 2; II Kings 21:10; Nehemiah 9:13, 14; I Cor. 2:3-5, 13; II Timothy 3:16. 2. How do some of the writers of the Bible consider the Word, and how long will it be preserved? Psalms 12:6; 119:140; St. John 15:3. Proverbs 30:5; St. Mathew 24:35. 3. How does the Psalmist enlarge on this? Psalms 19:7-9; 93:5.

All the references given above definitely prove that a true worshipper most certainly will adhere to the Word of God. No one can deny the power thereof; no one can scoff at the Word and not be liable of the wrath of God. 6. How universal is the Word? Psalms 19:1-4; Romans 10:18. 7. Are there any penalties for not obeying the Word? Jeremiah 23:29, 30; Deuteronomy 18:19, 20; St. John 12:47, 48. 8. How do Christians grow? 1 Peter 2:1, 2; 11 Peter 3:18. 9. What is the final word given to those who wish to be true worshippers? James 1:18-22. 10. Will the Word guide us through this dark world of Sin? Psalms 119:105; Proverbs 6:23. What important place does Jesus occupy in this building? Eph. 2:20, last part; Isa. 28:16. 4. Upon what does this foundation rest? St. Matthew 16:13-18. 5. Who is this solid Rock? Deut. 32:1-4; Psa. 92:15; 94:22. 6. Can we be sure that this foundation will stand? 2 Tim. 2:19. Note. In all buildings there must of necessity be a foundation and a place upon which it rests. In this building of God we have Jesus, the Apostles, and the prophets for the foundation, who are laid upon God, the solid Rock. 7. What place do the followers of Christ occupy in this building? 1 Peter 2:5; Eph. 2:22. 8. When this building is finished what is it then called? Eph. 2:21. Note. This building which represents the Church is the place where God through His Holy Spirit dwells, John 17:21-23. 9. In order for God to dwell in this building in what condition must it be? 11 Cor. 6:14-18. 10. What is the condition of each true stone in this building? 1 Peter 2:5. 11. What promise did Christ make to those who follow Him? St. John 1:4, 9, 8:12. 7. When one is following the instructions of Christ, whose life will be made manifest? Gal. 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:15. 8. Did Christ know beforehand how He would be hated and despised, and finally crucified? St. Luke 18: 31-33. 5. Jesus knew all that would befall Him, and how He would suffer and be crucified. How willing was He to go through all of this ignominy, shame, and suffering? St. Luke 22:41, 42; St. Matthew 16:21-23; 26:37-39. 6. How great was the agony of His soul and what happened to cause Him more grief? St. Luke 22:44, 47, 48. 7. What act of Peter s caused the Saviour additional sufferings? St. Luke 22:59-61. 8. What reproachful things were done to Jesus at the high priest s house? St. Luke 22:63, 64. 9. What cruelty did Pilate inflict upon Jesus? St. John 19:1. 10. What shameful treatment did He receive from the soldiers? St. Matthew 27:29, 30, 34, 41, 42. 11. What wonderful prayer did He utter for His tormentors while He hung upon the cross? How may we know that the prophet spoken of by Moses is the Christ? Acts 3:20-24. 3. Of what wonderful sign did the prophet Isaiah foretell? Isa. 7:14 4. Was this prophecy fulfilled? Luke 1:26-31, 2:7; Matt. 1:22, 23. 5. In what place was the Christ to be born according to Micah? Micah 5:2. 6. Was this prophecy fulfilled? Matt. 2:1. 7. What prophecy concerning Jesus is found in Hosea? Hosea 11:1. 8. How was this fulfilled? Matt. 2:13, 14, 19-23. 9. How was Christ s advent to be heralded? Isa. 40:3. 10. By whom was this fulfilled? Truly the prophecies relative to the birth and death of Jesus have been most wonderfully fulfilled, yea, even to the letter. We may rest assured that the prophecies concerning the return of Jesus will also be fulfilled to the letter.
