The Answer to Todays Issues March 25, 2018 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 (NIV) 14 For Christ s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. God s answer Changed Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Our heart diseases 1.Guilt (Psalm 40:12) 2. Compulsion (Romans 7:14-25) 3. Alienation (Colossians 1:21) 4. Confusion (Matthew 9:36) 5. Worry (Proverbs 12:25) Ezekiel 36:26 (NIV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. The Cross is the answer 6. Replacement- Romans 3:25a (TLB) 25 For God sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God s anger against us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (TLB) 21 For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God s goodness into us!
7. Redemption 2 Peter 2:19 (NIV) 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity--for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. 1 Timothy 2:6a (NCV) 6 He gave himself as a payment to free all people. 8. Reconciliation Romans 5:10 (NIV) 10 For if, when we were God s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (TEV) 18 All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also. 19 Our message is that God was making all human beings his friends through Christ. God did not keep an account of their sins, and he has given us the message which tells how he makes them his friends. 9. Rebirth 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Romans 6:4 (NIV) 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
10. Repudiation 1 John 3:8 (NIV) 8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil s work. Hebrews 2:14-15 (NLT) 14 Because God s children are human beings made of flesh and blood the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. Romans 6:8-9 (NIV) 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.
