VICE COMMANDANT * To All Marines: I wish to thank all for your thoughts and prayers. Semper Fi Mike * JUDGE ADVOCATE * No report. * CHAPLAIN OFFICE * If you want to experience lasting change in your life, you need to refocus your mind. Specifically, you need to change your thought patterns from focusing on what you don t want, to focusing on what you do want. And this is why: Whatever you focus on is what you move toward. How does this happen? The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:22-24 to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (NIV). This means you are going to have to do some putting off and you are going to have to do some putting on. And the putting off has to happen before the putting on. It s just like trying on clothes in a department store. Before you can try on the new stuff, you have to take off the old stuff. You re going to have to let go of the old attitudes, the old thought patterns, the old images that you ve been living with so you can put on the new garments God has for you as he changes and renews your mind. PRAYER LIST: Ed Robnett, Howard Osborne, Ron Kesek, Brian Morningstar, Dick Whelan, Len Sobie, Steve Eggleston, Redman, Lyle Roberts, Randy and Liz Schmidt, John Dague, Haywood and Connie Riley, Al and Mike Liegenguth's Father, Laura Oluich, Rick Williams and Sr. Vice Commandmant, Dept of Ohio, Mike Kirk. Call me to add to list (330-730-7325) GOD BLESS Ray Notarian, Chaplain Ed. Note. Mike had his right leg removed below the knee due to medical complications. Those wishing to brighten his day can send a card to: Mike Kirk 1066Lizabeth Circle Heath, Ohio 43056

Northeast Ohio Pound #164 164 is looking for a few good dogs. Incorporated August 2012 Medina County Unit, Marine Corps League Auxiliary April 17 will be our next regularly scheduled meeting at Pat Obrien Chevrolet dealership at 6:45 pm. We will need to discuss other events to make money so we can continue with our regular donations. So far we have only received one Scholarship application. Thank you for the check to help with expense in attending the two National meeting. It is greatly appreciated. I haven t worked on an ad to put in the Post and Gazette as yet. I will check on the cost of the ad and work on the ad hopefully this week If anyone would like to submit an idea to me for this please do. At our February meeting we briefly discussed doing a Raffle based on the Ohio Lottery 3 numbers for the evening. The cost or payout is $1850. To break even you would need to sell 370 tickets. The Land of Legends Unit so far has cleared around $2000 to pay for the hospitality room in June. The hard part is selling tickets. How many tickets do you think you could sell for this? At the June Convention in Newark on Friday night while the Devil Dogs meet we will be having wine and cheese while being instructed on how to do and American Painting. This is something I have seen done at different bars and it sounded like fun. We do not have much preparation to put this on. Just provide the wine and cheese. We Care in Medina is in need of the following items: toilet paper, disposable razors, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, shave cream lotion, paper towels, tissues, cleaning supplies, body wash, deodorant and feminine hygiene items. These are items people cannot purchase with food stamp program. Please bring to the next meeting or send with someone else. We can do this for two months so it isn t a hard ship on anyone. We need your support in any way you are able. Even if you can t attend the meetings your membership helps us. Or if you can t be at events but can donate towards that event in some way that is support also. Of course finding new members for us is a great support. Hope all of you are doing well and look forward to seeing you this month at our meeting. My phone is always open for phone calls. For any one that hasn t heard John has follicular non Hodgkin s Lymphoma. His first chemo was three weeks ago this Tuesday. He did fine the first week, then his white cell count virtually disappeared and he has been battling with a cough and a lot of mucous. He was on three round of antibiotics before chemo to no avail. After Chemo he started running a fever and his white cell count. While in the hospital for 6 days they gave him IV antibiotics, glucose, breathing treatments, oxygen and nulstant to bring up his white cells. It took six days to accomplish this but he was too weak to make the trip to Michigan. He was in the Hospital Saturday and then again this morning. He was running a temperature of 102.5 and having breathing problems. I will continue to do the best I can for our Unit, but John will come first at this time. I may call on you to help if need be.
